So the food. We ordered the Taco Dinner, which included two “rolled tacos” and two “folded tacos” with choice of filling, and the standard sides of rice and beans. We figured, this being our first time at this establishment, this would be something easy that would give us a decent sense of what the quality of the menu was.
The food is very bland. Even the table salsa was almost sweet, like it had been intended for an infant. No kick, no flare, nothing. It’s almost like the food was intended for those that consider milk spicy.
I think I have given up on trying to find anything decent in Yuma, I would even take El Torito at this point.
The checkout process was exceptionally smooth and pleasant. We were greeted warmly, and our groceries were bagged efficiently and promptly. A staff member was observed sanitizing carts in the corral outside the store.
I highly recommend this location for a superior grocery shopping experience.
The chorizo dip had cheddar cheese on it, not Mexican at all! Then, we were charged for a full meal instead of the appetizer price. It was supposed to be spicy, and was not at all spicy- had to ask for hot sauce, why is that not on the table to start with?
Do not recommend, and we will not be back with so many other choices in town, almost anywhere else will be better.
The food was very good and atmosphere was festive!
Will go back again and again
The restaurant relocated from Yuma’s West End and is now located along one of the city’s main arteries 16th Street. (Corner of 16th and Arizona Avenue).
The restaurant is well kept, staff is courteous and attentive. We didn’t have to ask for refills. We ordered the Taco Salad, mixed fajitas, and the flan.
Taco Salad: Shell and veggies were fresh. We ordered the shredded beef which was well seasoned. Over all a great dish.
Mixed Fajita: The veggies were perfectly sauteed, I’m a sucker for sauteed onions. It came with shrimp, chicken, and beef.
Flan (Mexican Jello): The plating was perfect. The dessert wasn’t too sweet even with whipped cream on top.
Overall a great experience and plan on coming back to try the menudo.
