Taking the classic grill and bar to new heights, NV-80 was born in celebration of 32 successful years in the restaurant industry. Named after the dynamic and legendary Gonçalves brothers, Naldo and Victor, NV-80 is a throwback to the 80’s when the duo began business together. Offering guests intimate indoor dining, an alfresco balcony for sundowners and a chic centre bar, this oasis of a restaurant feels far removed from its shopping centre location.

However, all steaks are basted in a “home sauce” that isn’t described on the menu. In reality, it’s essentially a BBQ sauce, which in our opinion overpowered the flavour of what would otherwise have been a lovely steak. If you’re not a fan of BBQ sauce, this is probably not the place for you.
The wine glasses were exceptionally small – understandable for a pairing, but these were noticeably tiny. Service was also disappointing. Our server was slow and often brought the food before the wine pairing, with no explanation of the wines. He also forgot to bring our dessert, which we had to remind him about, and when he finally came over at the end, he was listening to football on his phone.
The restaurant’s photos suggest a quiet, upmarket atmosphere, but during our visit there was a table of around 30 men who were extremely loud, which detracted from the experience.
Overall, while the food was good, the service and atmosphere did not justify the experience
Unfortunately, the medium-rare fillet I ordered was overcooked. When the gentleman in the white shirt, who was obviously the manager, came to our table and asked how the food was, we mentioned that the meat was overcooked. However, he didn’t address the comment at all. It makes you wonder why he asked in the first place. Not even a simple apology was offered, which would have been the bare minimum — especially considering the high prices.
This experience was disappointing because otherwise it would have easily been a 5-star rating. I’m deducting 2 stars for the manager’s handling of the situation.
Service was fantastic always touching base and friendly.
It’s located inside a shopping centre but it’s a very nice place to dine at for any occasion.
️ Excellent food — perfectly cooked meat, fish, and sides
High service standards — friendly, professional, attentive staff
️ Convenient location — upstairs in a shopping complex near hotels
Fair pricing for portion size and quality
Seating a little uncomfortable — wooden chairs could use padding
Over-eager clearing — staff a bit too quick to remove dishes mid-meal
Safe area — well lit with visible security and police presence
Refined interior design — elegant, dark, and modern atmosphere

Had a lovely meal here. From walking in to walking out, the service and standards were spot on.
The restaurant sits on the first floor of a shopping complex, just off the main road. Parking isn’t great, but there is some on-road parking immediately outside, and car parks nearby. If you’re staying in one of the local hotels, it’s an easy and safe walk, with well-lit streets and a strong security presence in the area.
Inside, the interior is high-end and refined, with a dark, elegant design that gives a clear sense of quality and prestige.
The staff were superb — polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely keen to ensure everything was just right. Their professionalism and attention to detail really stood out.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Both the red meats and fish were cooked perfectly, and the side dishes complemented them perfectly. I couldn’t fault a single element of the meal.
From a price perspective, it was fair value for the portion sizes and quality delivered.
The only negatives were minor: the wooden chairs are quite hard, so a bit of padding would go a long way comfort-wise. And while the staff were excellent overall, the constant attempts to clear plates, glasses, and cutlery mid-meal were a bit distracting. It’s better practice to wait until the table is ready or the customer indicates so — having arms reaching across while you’re still eating breaks the flow of an otherwise relaxed dining experience.
That said, this seems to be a common practice across many restaurants in the region, so I won’t let it affect the overall score.
A great restaurant, with quality food, strong service, and a refined atmosphere — definitely worth a visit.
Amazing place, amazing food. Really. I took the rebeye and the shrimps in one plate – tender, juicy and delicious. Sides very tasty as well. Staff is kind and fast. Super recommended.
