How I have such fond memories of Waffle House in Jacksonville, FL. After a night on the town, my buddies and I could always depend on this small diner for its wonderful late night offerings which were always very good American food. I most always got breakfast and that’s what I had a taste for this morning! Because I have lived in Washington, DC for the past 30 years, I did not realize that the service window was the only mode of customer interaction after a certain time. I asked for a 2 egg breakfast for $9, add bacon. The cashier asked if I wanted extras in my hashbrowns and I agreed to everything she suggested. Well, let’s just say that she and her comrades in the back upsold my order! I didn’t order the breakfrast for $16 and when I questioned them on it, they said that is the way it is. Well the way it is for me is to email your home office about this transaction and warn others about the treatment here. DON’T PAY BEFORE VERIFYING YOUR ORDER! The food was nasty and not what I remembered from yesteryear. My “Phenix” didn’t mind the transaction at all because the poorly made meal was just fine for her! She’s pictured, content as ever, after eating my meal.

A rapid fire review. I’m just going to write my immediate impressions.
Quick breakfast this morning. Fabia was my server, and is awesome, as is all the staff, I’ve been to many Waffle Houses throughout the land and this one is no exception. Quality food. Quality, attentive service, no nonsense and a most functional place to have, for me, breakfast. I’ve never dined lunch there.
Food and service is five stars. Can’t go wrong there. Some very minor, and I really mean minor but I’m bringing them up anyways.
Coffee could be better, it should be better to match the quality of the food. Waffle House coffee isn’t too far beyond instant. It’s passable but it needs to be better.
Parking lot is tight, especially with compact area in between buildings. Coming and going. Good amount of backing. It’s basically the only option.
Lastly, is something I hadn’t ever noticed before. Like all Waffle Houses this location was increasingly busy I’d have to say it was about a 50/50% mix of dine in and takeout. When I went to check out, which is also an efficient process I noticed, (if I’m correct), there is a 20% surcharge on takeout orders. It’s there and I think it’s fair. The staff are all hard working and they need to be remunerated for all that they are doing.

This was a horrible experience. The cook was there by himself, now there was only 1 customer and they already had there food. Cook had serious attitude, didn’t great me when I walked in, never gave me eating utensils nor asked did I want something to drink. I almost walked out. I called out my order because he never came to my table and when the completed my order he passed it to me from a distance. Someone must have called out for work and he want us to know he was unhappy. It would have been better if he just called in also

This was the first time for me to go to a Waffle House. The service was quick. The coffee was hot, and the food was delicious. I would recommend going. The waffles are light and fluffy.

Waffle House has always been my go to place to get a Breakfast or a grilled cheese sandwich. Today I stopped at this location because I wanted a breakfast at almost 2pm in the afternoon. I got the Huge Special two eggs fried over medium. White toast, hash-browns plain Jane with bacon. And a Waffle with ice water. This all came to $11.70 plus tax. I gave my waitress about to go off duty for the day a $3.25 tip. She got to me in under 3 minutes because she was helping other customers at the time. She took my order as I told it to her. The cook did his job and my food was on my table in no time. I had a stopwatch on to see how long it would be when I sat down to get served and get my food. Me eating the food and paying for my meal to get back in my car. All just under 40 minutes. Good Job Waffle House Crew near “JIA Airport.”

We have eaten at a lot of Waffle House’s and this one is the worst. Raw Bacon.. asked it to be crispy.. my husband sandwich was burnt toast with only an egg & raw bacon, cook forgot the cheese bc he was too busy talking on the phone about 25 year old girls he was going to hook up with later. Not to mention children inside the restaurant. my husband asked for a waffle with his meal, it took us 15 minutes to eat ( only hash browns) went to pay and the waffle sat there in the counter burnt to a crisp. The waitress put it in a bag to go and we didn’t take it.. this restaurant needs some serious help!

disturbing experience at this Waffle House. While I was checking out, an Asian woman entered the restaurant with a suitcase, likely after a flight, to order food. To my shock, the only server and cook present were visibly annoyed by her presence, rolling their eyes, and mocking her with an offensive “Asian” accent. They made derogatory remarks, including a mockery of the N-word, and repeatedly asked condescending questions like, “Do you want to eat?” which was both unnecessary and deeply disrespectful, as it was clear why she was there.
The woman eventually walked out because of the way she was treated. This behavior was not only unprofessional but outright discriminatory. I am appalled by what I witnessed, and I sincerely hope management takes swift action to address this unacceptable conduct.
The overall service was equally appalling. Our entire order was incorrect, the food was somehow both burnt and cold, and it took 20 minutes just to receive waters. We didn’t receive a single refill on our drinks, and the server was openly cursing throughout our time there. While the server gave me an extra waffle because she got the order wrong, it was clear the only reason she did so was that the first waffle was burnt and she still served it to me.
This behavior is completely unacceptable. I strongly urge management to addiress the conduct of the staff to ensure no other customer has to endure such an experience.
