It was a lovely place to chitchat with friends and eat Japanese grill. The amazing part is the clothes are not so stinky with grill smell afterwards, it has a good ventilation ‍♀️. The food is amazing but we still have a butter added mushrooms after we did the dairy free request…service was a bit careless, seafood grill is quite disappointing but the sushi and sashimi dish are great, meat is fresh and seasoned well…you don’t need to be good at cooking and cook great

This is one of my favourite spots! Service and food are just great!
I love the fact that you can have sushi but ramen, noodles and grill your meat in the bbq too! I wonder why they removed the egg from the salmon rice dish
Omg don’t forget your dessert at the end by the way!

We came here as a big group and we choose AYCE option. The price for one adult is $42.99 from Monday-Thursday and $45.99 for weekends and holiday. The place is so crowded, if you want to go with a big group or do not want to wait, you should book the place ahead of time, especially during dinners or weekends, the waiting time could be longer. The atmosphere here is very cozy and warm, making us really hungry and wanted to dive into the food right away. The food quality is 1000/10. They have one of the best beef ever. The volcano roll is a must-try here! I really liked the beef and salmon handroll as well. It’s so good when you eat the whole thing at once, the taste is fantastic. Their dessert cream brulee is so good, out group really likes it. The staffs are really nice. They always stand around and we can easily asked for help when we needed it. They also change the grill frequently. The seating limit is 2 hours, and they kindly remind us when we almost reach that limit. Such a great place to have some AYCE in downtown Toronto!

Honestly probably one of the better AYCE spots I’ve been to.

Their service is fast and attentive. Flagging someone down takes less than a minute and items get delivered within a few minutes after ordering.

Their food quality is great. Every cut they had was beautifully marbled. Their cooked items were good and had a unique variety.

The sushi options are nice to have. I personally just recommend the torched salmon handroll.

Overall if I were to go somewhere for AYCE JBBQ and sushi id likely come back here.

Me and my girlie went to get all you can eat food at Taisho (this reminds me of Demon Slayer by default lol). The quality of all of the food visually great and the service was pretty quick. It’s definitely priced on the higher side over the weekends, but I think most Japanese AYCE places do that.

Went to Taisho Japanese Grill for Saturday dinner (all you can eat $45.99) and it was excellent. The menu has a huge variety and the quality was surprisingly good for AYCE.

My favorites were the prime kalbi, garlic shrimp in foil, and the beef tataki—all really well done. Also enjoyed the black pepper kalbi strips, sliced beef brisket, marinated lamb, jumbo shrimp, cheese corn, and the beef udon soup.

For dessert, both the crème brûlée and gelato were great finishes.

Service was very attentive—our waitress Minami was super friendly and kept everything moving smoothly.

Overall: 5/5. Great food, great service, and definitely a spot I’d come back to.

I’ve been to Taisho around 5–6 times now, and it’s the one place I proudly recommend to all my friends! The quality is insanely consistent every single visit.

The miso-marinated beef is unmatched, and the ikura don is literally my favourite in the city!

☹️ The only drawback is the limitation on call of desserts.
The crème brûlée is super amazing, but I wish they didn’t limit the order (1 person can only order once). Places like KAKA sushi AYCE or Gyubee let you call creme brulee unlimited (and even offer flavours like matcha or earl grey).

If a manager ever sees this: please consider being more flexible with dessert orders! Cut costs somewhere else, not the desserts, because they truly complete the whole experience for most customers.

Still, Taisho remains one of the best Japanese grills in the city, and I’ll keep coming back on special occasions ✨

We had an awesome time at Taisho Grill! The food was super fresh and tasty, loved the miso/pork beef as well as the poke bowls, ramen and sushi which included torched salmon. Everything came out quick and hot, and the grill experience was really fun.

Big shoutout to our server Haru, he was amazing and friendly, he checked in often without being pushy, and made sure we had everything we needed. Honestly made the experience 10x better.

Definitely recommend this spot if you’re craving Japanese grill — and if you get Haru as your server, you’re in for a great experience!

While walking around, I happened to discover this wonderful place in a very cozy area of Toronto. My first experience here was having lunch, and I can say that the price-to-quality ratio was absolutely worth it – I would even say the quality was much higher than the price.

However, my experience with dinner today was disappointing and completely ruined the positive impressions I had of this place. Dinner itself was great – I came with friends whom I had recommended this restaurant to. But at the end, after paying the bill, the staff came to us and said that we had left too little tip. Of course, they asked if everything was okay, but the tone made it obvious that they were unhappy about the amount of the tip. Since I wasn’t alone, I paid the bill and my friends were going to leave the tip in cash, but after this inappropriate question, we had no desire to leave anything at all.

Will I return again? Probably no, but until this moment I was 100% sure that I would visit many more times.

Another thing I didn’t really like is that desserts are limited – for example, crème brûlée can only be ordered once per person. In other restaurants, this dessert is unlimited, and here it feels like they are cutting costs. The crème brûlée was delicious, and I really wanted to order it again, but unfortunately (or fortunately for the management saving money) it wasn’t allowed. As for ice cream, I can agree with their approach – in some places it’s paid separately, so it’s nice that they offer one fried ice cream for free. Many other Asian restaurants also give ice cream for free, even though they’re not all-you-can-eat.

Pros: The waitresses tonight were amazing – they completely won my heart with how attentive and fast they were. The food quality was also very good.
Cons: The way the dinner ended.

We love Bill! Bill served us today and was amazing, and outgoing. Outstanding service and very helpful as it was my first time doing a bbq. Food was on point. Time limits on tables 1.5 hours for all you can eat.
