A Memorable Evening at Dauphin’s

Dauphin’s delivered an unforgettable casual dining experience with one of the best views in Mobile. Perched high above the city, the restaurant overlooks downtown and the riverfront, offering a stunning backdrop that made the evening feel special from the moment we sat down. We even had a perfect vantage point to watch the Mardi Gras parade roll by, which added a fun and uniquely Mobile touch to the night.

The food was exceptional—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and served with the kind of attention to detail you hope for in a place with this kind of reputation. The service was superb from start to finish. Every interaction felt warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our experience great.

Overall, it was a fantastic night out and absolutely worth it. Let’s just say I made some major points with my wife on this one. Dauphin’s is definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone looking to pair great food with an unbeatable view and top-tier service.

Finding the place was a bit of a challenge, but as long as one could locate the correct door, there would be a sign that points in the right direction. My partner and I went straight to the top floor and were seated in a spot that allowed us to see the entire city view. It was very clear that this was a fine dining spot, because I was given a blazer by the restaurant staff since I failed to dress up for this occasion.

I have never tried alligator meat before and managed to taste it for the first time here. It tasted like popcorn chicken and having Thai chili sauce was a good move because it offered the dish good flavor. I didn’t use any of the ranch dressing. The gulf shrimp chowder was extremely tasty because it contained a good amount of black pepper and a lot of shrimp and cream corn, making the soup taste creamy in a flavorful way. My partner had great things to say about the duck, which was a specialty dish. The maple glaze was obvious and provided the duck breast meat with good flavor. However, the green beans were very plain with barely any seasoning. I ordered the farmer’s plate, which was a vegetarian dish, and I thought that it was overall only okay because the snow peas were very undercooked, and they occupied majority of the dish. The green tomatoes, tomatillos, and zucchini all tasted very good.

In terms of desserts, the chocolate cake was very hot and moist inside, which made it clear that it was fresh. The outer crust was very crispy but the inside tasted too plain. The key lime pie was very well-made, with a soft layer of graham crackers along with tasty mango syrup and hibiscus reduction defining the extra taste. Overall they both tasted great.

I must mention that our server Ashleigh was very attentive and helpful. My partner and I appreciated her help a lot during our experience. Also, it was good to listen to some quiet live performances during the dinner because it added an extra level of vibe.

The service and food were 5 star quality. I had the Rasta Pasta and it was so creamy and full of flavor. Our cocktail was delicious and beautiful, the bread and butter were delicious and the pecan bar dessert was simply wonderful. I love that there is a dress code, and the views are stunning, definitely recommend going shortly before sunset. I would love to go back!

The kind of rooftop skyline restaurant to enjoy views of Mobile and decent cuisine right in the heart of the city. They do have a dress code and reservations are needed to enjoy the full access. The vibe is special occasion and for Mobilians, this place is certainly going to make one feel like a billionaire!

My book club members and I traveled from Louisiana and visited Dauphin’s. The entire experience was amazing. We shared several appetizers that were delicious and our entrees were very good. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was pleasant and very hospitable. Our waiter, Ev, was very polite and professional. We definitely will return.

Breathtaking views paired with good food. Dauphin’s is my go-to for an elevated lunch with coworkers, family, or friends. The atmosphere is everything—timeless décor, friendly and accommodating staff. The shrimp tacos are always solid, and on my last visit I tried the bayou eggplant, unexpectedly delicious. Add in the beautiful city views, and it’s absolutely worth the visit.

My husband surprised me for our anniversary w dinner at Dauphins. Amazing from start to finish! We had the seasonal pork belly starter, then he had the seasonal duck and I had the seasonal pecan crusted chicken. We both had a glass of great wine as well. For dessert we shared the crème brûlée and finished w their chocolate mint ganache served cold over dry ice.

Excellent experience overall. You can really feel the great culture here. The Southern American food is simple in presentation but very flavorful. Our server, Brian, was awesome: he explained each dish clearly, offered refills, and helped us split the check exactly how we needed. The view is beautiful, and the Colombian violinist adds a really nice touch to the atmosphere. Loved the place.
