Social Profile:

In 2002, the vision of Calabash Creamery began with husband and wife team, Greg and Kristi Hansen. Sensing the growth and potential, they choose Calabash as the home for their new business. Greg & Kristi decided to put their former professions to “pasture” and venture into a new direction. They enrolled and graduated from “Carpigiani Ice Cream College” where they learned the tricks of the trade. On July 22, 2003 the Calabash Creamery opened its doors to the public. Since then, they have been featured in several magazines and newspapers and awarded the BEST ice cream in Brunswick County, Greg and Kristi are very thankful to all of the local and out of town guests that have welcomed Calabash Creamery into their hearts and families.

Cheerful mom-&-pop shop featuring creative housemade ice cream in waffle cones, plus porch rockers.

Such a charming little ice cream shop! The older gentleman was so welcoming and friendly, and the homemade ice cream is affordable and delicious. We loved the wrap-around porch with plenty of rocking chairs.. the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your treat. We’ll definitely be back!

Place is clean, plenty of room to sit, fair prices, delicious ice cream. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but I got there 20 minutes before 9 and it was closed. Verified the time online and said they were open until 9 ‍♂️

We enjoyed delicious seasonal flavors. Everything was clean, bright, and inviting. The rockers on the covered porch outside just beckoned to be sat in. Decor was whimsical, even in the bathroom. It was worth going out of our way to get ice cream here. We love ice cream, but this was more than ice cream, it was an experience. Fast and friendly service kept the line moving.

Calabash Creamery has always been our favorite ice cream place. We try to come a couple times each time we visit.

Love how they give samples and most importantly give the kids free sprinkles!!

Really good ice cream with a wide, but not overwhelming, variety of flavors. Great atmosphere, inside and out, with some seating inside to enjoy your ice cream if it’s cold outside. During Christmas Time, inside was decorated nicely and had a tree for pictures. Staff are fairly friendly.

You should go cool off with Homemade Ice Cream at the CALABASH CREAMERY! Enjoy their delicious, yummy flavors on the store’s front porch, or even grab a pint to take home and enjoy. I love trying their new monthly featured flavors, but my heart belongs to the butter pecan! 2 scoops in a waffle cone please?! AND if you use the clover app, you can get points for coupons.. Who doesn’t love a deal for sweet treats? The employees are always welcoming, and always willing to help me decide on which new flavor to try.

Loved the creative flavor choices. The cow a bash crunch and cappuccino crunch are my favorites. It was a clean and cool joint on a warm day. The only downside is they don’t use their hand scooped ice cream in their milkshakes. They use soft serve and dress it up however you want.

What a disappointment… We have visited Calabash Creamery often. The homemade ice cream is always very good. This visit however I decided to have a milkshake. I was hoping for a hand made milkshake with real ice cream, chocolate syrup and milk mixed in a blender like I used to get in old fashioned ice cream shops. What I got was a chocolate milkshake mix from a machine blended with some milk that resembled a McDonalds milkshake. For a place that has such great homemade ice cream it was a real disappointment!
