Only issue I have is finding a chicken breast bone in my food when I was taking a bite. If I didn’t catch it I could have coked. It was a pointy end piece. If anyone orders any chicken salad or other cut up chicken meal, be careful and look it over carefully. I’m not posting to cause a problem, I just want to let people be aware so nobody chokes. I didn’t want to keep it to myself and feel guilty. Other than that, the food is good.

Great diner with terrific service and prices. Great place to go for breakfast any time. They have TONS of servers and the orders come out VERY quickly.

In all of the years I have been here, I have never had a bad meal. My favorite is their stuffed cabbage dinner, which I think is better than the actual Polish restaurants I have been to in Hamtramak. Other entrees I (& my friends/family) recommended are corn beef & cabbage, breaded pork chops, fish & chips, chicken stir fry, lasagna, & veal/chicken parmesan.

My friends and I went there for lunch. The staff was warm and welcoming. The food was very good. I had the turkey bacon melt and fries. It had real turkey (not deli) that was tasty and tender, crisp bacon, melted cheddar on grilled bread and pickles on the side. I also ordered a side of fries which all came to a little over $12 with the senior discount. Very affordable. Everyone enjoyed their food.

I ordered take out, and the staff took the order wrong. Specifically, they heard bowl and I ordered a pint of soup. When fixing this, they placed their unwashed hands in the bag with food and opened the containers. They then took the food and asked for $6 more to cover the quart. The bowl I was charged for was a little over five, and the quart is 8-9. When questioned why they were charging so much, she refused to provide an explanation. When I asked for a refund, she slammed the door and called us a racial slur. Don’t go to this place.

We went to Theo’s with a group of about 10 for lunch. That wasn’t the best move on our part because it was very crowded, and I definitely acknowledge that.
The food was excellent. I have no complaints there. The coney was one of the better coneys I’ve tried in my years of living in the Detroit area.
Where my experience fell short was the service. The service was excellent from an efficiency’s standpoint. The food came out quickly, despite the crowd. Where the service fell short was that our server was not very kind and was not able to hide her anxiety well at dealing with the crowd. She hurried us through our orders, interrupted conversations we were having loudly when asking us questions, and quite simply did not have good energy. I think that perhaps she was just having a bad day and/or that she wasn’t happy about dealing with the crowd.
To add to the service deficit, the restaurant had a problem with the women’s bathroom while we were there. This caused a terrible smell to emanate throughout the back of the restaurant and to reach our table. The employees tried to mask the smell and fix the problem, but it didn’t help.
I’d probably return to Theo’s, but not during lunch hours. The food is excellent, but the atmosphere during lunch is chaotic, which caused our server to not be as kind as she likely normally is.

There is a reason why Theo’s has been around for so long. Excellent food, reasonable prices, friendly, good service and comfortable. Keep doing what you’re doing.
