My girlfriend and I met here for lunch on Saturday. She had been before, but it was my first time — and I was pleasantly surprised! Not only does this spot offer authentic Caribbean flavors, but it also features Creole and soul food.

I ordered the soul food plate along with the Caribbean brown stew chicken served with rice and cabbage. My girlfriend had the oxtails with rice and cabbage, plus a beef patty and a cola. Everything was flavorful and satisfying.

I’ll definitely be back to try more from their delicious Creole menu. Don’t pass this place by — it’s truly a hidden gem!

12.23.25 – 3p – this was my first visit inside. The previous morning we had breakfast dashed to us. If you want authentic Jamaican flavors, this is the real deal! I love that everything we wanted was actually available and satisfying. The veggie portion size can increase by a cup. The bread pudding was not a texture I was used to; yet my husband enjoyed it. Their line of juices are like diabetes in a bottle…. TOO darn sweet; that’s the old Caribbean style! Let’s change up our style to help others live a healthier lifestyle.

I’ll eat here again before my visit is over

Drove 45 minutes to try this place and will likely not go back. Prices were $5 more than what is reported online. I went a little before 1pm, and the cashier said there are no lunch specials, only Monday thru Thursday, but online is different.

My brown stew chicken is dry and tasteless despite extra sauce and my jerk chicken is average at best. Wasted time and money on this.

Also got a beef patty (2/5 stars)
Correlation was diabetic sweet.

Was wary to try due to the mixed reviews. When I went it was excellent. I got the oxtail— best I’ve had in my life. Plantain was good. Rice was amazing. No bells and whistles, this is great food at a little shop

Went to get food after work, live over an hour away bought 3 meals. I was very disappointed when I got home, I ordered a fish dinner granted yes they did open the tray in-front of me, but because everything else was packed on top, I didn’t notice there was no gravy on the meals. After I got home I realized there was no gravy on the rice and of course I order a fish meal. Hence dry rice, dry fish, and yes there was fried dumplings in there so just picture the texture of that tray. While live too far to return it.

I don’t know I purchase from here every week but it seems to be getting worse each and every time I visit. Last Friday I ordered a fish and chicken meal no gravy when I went home the food dry. When the owner is present everything seems to be great but when the owner is not present they are rude and they don’t present the food the way it’s supposed to be. Just disappointing

I had a very disappointing experience with Caribbean Sunshine Bakery on March 9, 2025.
I placed an online order at 7:46 p.m. after noticing they offered vegetarian options and wanted to try their food. My confirmation stated that the order would be ready at 8:16 p.m. I drove 35 minutes to the location expecting my order to be prepared.
When I arrived, the staff told me they could not find the order in their system. I showed them my confirmation, and after about 10 minutes, they returned and said the chef had already left and the kitchen was closed, so they could not make the order.
What made the situation worse was their explanation. They said that sometimes they do not see the online orders until customers arrive, which raises serious concerns about their ordering system. If that is the case, customers should not be encouraged to place online orders.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but the unapologetic and nonchalant attitude from the staff was extremely unprofessional. There was no attempt to make the situation right after I had driven so far.
The reason I was trying the food was because I was considering them for catering several upcoming events. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled cost them much more than the $85 order they refunded. It cost them the opportunity for potentially thousands of dollars in future business.
I choose not to continue supporting businesses that show so little concern for their customers’ time and experience.

I was in the area following an appt and wanted to try some Caribbean food in the area. This place had over 1,000 reviews so I was looking forward to trying it. From the reviews I read, they were mixed but mostly good, so I figured it was still worth a try. The place was clean, service for ordering was prompt, about 5-7 mins from arrival, and the lady who took my order was very pleasant, patient and helpful. There was only one person waiting to order in front of me but various people were around waiting for their order. From the reviews, I saw quite a bit of people recommended the beef patties, curry goat and jerk chicken so I figured I’d try those. The only thing additional I ordered were the drinks and coconut cake. I got the pineapple ginger and passion fruit drinks, the food, and some mild and spicy beef patties. I did like that they had the option for mild and spicy, because I can only tolerate a little spice, enough to flavor the food.

The food was ok. The curry goat was salty and the texture was a tad bit too chewy. Between that or the combination of that and the pineapple ginger drink, it left a weird sensation on my tongue, almost tingly and it felt as if it had this weird coating on my tongue following me eating it and drinking. At some point I had stopped eating not because I was full but it was becoming a chore to try to finish, so I stopped eating. My rice was fine but I just got white rice, plaintains were good, fried dumpling was ok, wasnt fond of the texture, not ftied dry enough, and the cabbage was spoiled so I couldnt eat it. When I first opened the plate I didnt pick up on the scent of the cabbage until I was about to eat it. I still tried a little bit to confirm if thats what I smelled, and for sure it was off. My girls had the curry goat as well but with rice and peas. The rice and peas was ok for them as well but my oldest didnt care for the texture of the curry goat either. She ended up trying the cabbage before I realized it was spoiled, but didnt eat any more because she said it tasted horrible. For the jerk chicken it was beautiful, I’ll give them that. I was almost sorry I didnt get that when I saw the beautiful presentation. When we opened the plate though that jerk scent never hit us and we smelled the chicken closely but couldnt pick up on the jerk scent. The chicken was also dry with very minimum spice. We’re used to jerk chicken that smells so good the scent hits your nose from the block as your passing whoever is making it, and they would make it dripping with juices and spicy and served with bread. Its usually so spicy that I can only have a little bit but would always try it because its so mouth watering good. Yes, so the jerk chicken was no jerk chicken we are familiar with and the seasoning was like a dry rub seasoning but still not much seasoning to the pallete. My husband asked me if I saw Jamaicans working there, I told him I heard a few of them speaking who were Jamaicans but I dont know about the chefs. None of the food tasted like any of the food were used to in the Caribbean. I’m not from Jamaica but we have a lot of Jamaican restaurants back home, and quite a bit of our foods are intertwined; the curry goat, beef patties, jerk chicken and oxtails to name a few. So, we were hoping for some good Jamaican food to remind us of home but we didnt find it here. I was supposed to try the fried fish, it looks like they have snappers, and we love fried snappers and make a lot of fish and seafood back home in the Caribbean, so I would still go back again to try the fish and oxtail, then I’ll be able to say whether or not I’ll go back. The beef patties, were ok but doesnt come close to home, it was too crusty.
The drinks werent bad. The ginger in the pineapple ginger drink was potent and the pineapple was sweet, too sweet for my liking. It was made with pineapple nectar I believe, and I’m never a fan of nectars because their sugar content is too high, and its usually too thick. My neice liked the pineapple ginger drink; however, and my oldest daughter liked the passion fruit drink.

Such a fun place to visit! The vibes are unmatched and they have a very big menu of patties, meats, juices, and more. Just make sure you come earlier in the day so they don’t run out! The jerk chicken and spicy beef patties are my favorite.

Definitely take the chance- it’s easy to find and there’s plenty of parking.
