Moving reviews over from Yelp. This was originally written 9/20/17:
This is the kind of place you go when you want a down-to-earth burger. Nothing fancy – nothing fusion – nothing complicated…just an old-fashioned burger. I would be willing to bet the most “edgy” thing on the menu is probably the patty melt. Naturally, if what you really want is an old-fashioned greasy griddle-fried burger than this is the place for you.
Patties are cooked on a flat-top like you get at a national brand place but they are somehow quite a bit better. Maybe it’s the unhealthy dash of salt & pepper? Maybe it’s the bun that holds up relatively well? Maybe it’s the sear on a well-seasoned grill. Regardless, this is a burger that you will find yourself thinking about days after eating it.
Ambiance? Not so much. Really more like a throwback to what I imagine a little burger joint would have been like in the 50s.

One of the best culinary institutions in the area. Pull up for the curbside service and enjoy a burger that’s been made since 1957 for good reason. The servers treat you like family and the curly fries will have you coming back for more for years to come.

Have been going here since I was a kid and to me this place will always be the best burger joint in town. Bacon chuck with cheese a curly fry and some cheddar cheese balls with a cherry coke , can’t get any better just wish we could go back inside and sit down and eat because the atmosphere was the best!!!!!!! Absolutely love this place.

I was really undecided about what I wanted to eat. I knew I wanted a good steak burger, but I just couldn’t decide where to go. I was actually about to head to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers when my coworker walked in the door.
I asked her where I could get a good steak burger and told her I was thinking about Freddy’s. Then I asked if she had ever heard of Chuck-A-Burger. Her eyes got so big and she immediately said, “Yes! Go there—you won’t be disappointed!”
So I decided to give Chuck-A-Burger a try, and I’m really glad I did. The food was awesome and definitely hit the spot. If you’re looking for a great steak burger, this place is worth checking out!

My go to burger spot in the St louis area. Been here at least weekly lol they have a classic double cheeseburger, elevated by an abundance of melted cheese, is a rich, towering indulgence. Two savory beef patties are grilled to perfection, layered with an extra helping of golden, gooey American cheese that cascades over the edges. Crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, and sharp pickles often complete the stack, all nestled within a toasted, soft bun for the ultimate satisfying bite. With delicious frys and good Root beer float

I must have reviewed Chuck previously, because I’ve been eating here since 1970. We had two single burgers (one with cheese) onion rings and a large root beer malt. Everything was delicious. Service was great. Cost was less than $20. My only complaint is the atmosphere. The dining room is closed and the awnings that covered the picnic tables are gone. The picture is from the last time I ate inside, September 2017.

Got the double Hollywood chuck which was two patties with all the veg and thousand island dressing. Also got the single BBQ with slaw, that was as it sounds and a side of curly fries. The burgers and fries were so good exactly as expected. The woman who took our order and served us our food was so prompt and helpful!

I love most places that serve Ski soda, and this is no exception. This is my first time coming here. And, I was surprised to see a woman approach my truck on the far end of the parking lot to take my order. They gave excellent, friendly service. The burger was fantastic. The patties were well seared, and the toppings were fresh. No sad tomatoes! The fries could have been a bit more crispy, but that’s my preference. The lobby is closed, but are outdoor tables, and plenty of room for cars.

Chuck-A-Burger is such a nostalgic gem! From the moment you pull up, the classic drive-in atmosphere takes you back in time in the best way. There’s something so fun and refreshing about the old-school carhop experience—it feels like a slice of Americana that’s hard to find anymore.
If you’re looking for great food with a side of nostalgia, Chuck-A-Burger never disappoints. It’s an experience as much as it is a meal!

I will start by saying if you’re going for the car hop kind of feel it was great. Personally I’d have liked to been able to go In and eat instead of eating in my car. But outside of that which is very minor the food was very good, made fresh, as well as very reasonable on price. The burgers were very juicy with just enough of that char the wrap was okay but hey its a burger place. The fries good crisp yet fluffy but we did prefer the seasoned curly over the steak fries. But for a total of $25 for a single, a double hollywood burger, fries, curly fries, and a chicken wrap I can’t complain that’s a pay check at five guys well be back.
