We were a group of 5, came at 6pm on a Monday night. Quite busy but didn’t wait more than 10 minutes. They do not accept reservations.
The warm hand wipes the waiter opened and placed in our hands at the beginning were a nice touch — sanitary. Amazing selection of options to grab, but you can always order anything you want on the tablet (like the mochi ice cream). All the sushi tasted great and was fresh.
Plates are counted and priced by plate color. Staff was attentive and filled our waters multiple times. They were also great with picking up the plate covers to make more room on the table.
Overall, great place!! Not too expensive but good quality food. Casual and good for any group size. Dining was fast (because you don’t have to wait for your food to come). Great walk-in restaurant!

OH MY GOSH STOP HERE AND DON’T PASS IT BY. We’ve all had sushi in our hometowns. But you haven t had sushi like this before. We could have kept picking plate off the conveyer. The food was so so fresh. We loved the train that delivered your bento boxes. The sushi was so good. The restaurant was so organized. I was sort of reluctant to go there but I’m so glad we did. YUM. seriously it was amazing. Too bad we don’t have a place like this in the Detroit area.

Sushi Plus Rotary Sushi Bar is such a fun spot! The location and vibe are great, and the rotating sushi selection makes the whole experience even better. Be prepared to wait—it’s popular for a reason—but it’s absolutely worth it.
The sushi is super fresh, and their spicier options are especially delicious. The salmon plate (sake) is also a 10/10. Prices are clearly marked, very reasonable, and it’s the kind of place where you can enjoy yourself without breaking the bank.
Honestly, it’s just a blast—perfect for going with friends and sharing the experience. Highly recommend!

Yummy as always. Got 4 large pieces of fresh sashimi for only $7, Philly Roll, tokoyaki (battered octopus balls), and a soda for $23. Left full! The wait staff is awesome, and I love the doorbell system for calling the server as needed. Fun to see all the food conveyer by. Love this place.

I stopped by Sushi Plus Rotary Sushi Bar in Boystown and it’s such a fun, casual sushi experience. The conveyor belt setup makes it interactive — you just grab whatever catches your eye as it rolls by, which makes the whole meal feel spontaneous and relaxed.
The sushi itself was fresh and nicely portioned. There’s a good variety, from simple nigiri to specialty rolls, and I liked being able to try a little bit of everything without committing to one big order. It’s not ultra high-end omakase, but it’s solid quality and great value for the experience.
The atmosphere is lively and upbeat, especially in the Boystown area, which adds to the energy. Overall, Sushi Plus is a great go-to when you want something casual, affordable, and a little entertaining along with your sushi.

Really good rotary sushi experience. The food and atmosphere was really good. They’re busy inside so the turn around for the pieces is quick. And the delivery from the kitchen is pretty fast as well. It comes delivered by toy trucks! The only complaint is that the pieces are pretty heavy on rice. So you get full faster, but don’t get to try as many things. Everything looked really good too, so that was unfortunate. I would go back again!

The food is ok. The place is great. I like the concept about grabbing food ready to be eaten. But I’ve seen better sushi rolls in other resta6. These taste good , but are not remarkable. Still, I enjoy coming here .

We went to Kura New Years Eve for dinner… well, we TRIED to go. My 12 year old son has been begging to visit this revolving sushi bar. We knew it might be a challenge on New years eve but my husband insisted if it were really busy for me to Just take my son and myself so he could experience it while we were in town. (We live 3 hours away) But when we arrived we were met with the rudest staff. When we arrived the majority of the seats were completely empty yet the staff told me there was a 1 hour wait and I needed to make a reservation on the app. I told the staff I tried to make a reservation online on their website but it said “this location is not accepting reservations” one of the staff members told me i needed to download the app in order to make a reservation… so downloaded the app and again it said “this location is not accepting reservations” I showed it to the staff but they told me that meant they were not accepting anyone else. The staff member told me it would be an hour wait even for 2 people even for the “bar”. even though there were TONS of seats open. There were a couple people waiting but there wasn’t a large amount of people waiting, which I would have expected there to have been a packed waiting area on new years eve…but I think there was 5-8 people waiting. The female snapped at me and told me “we are short staffed and we cant just seat you if we dont have the staff to take care of you. we close at 7:30 anyway.”
“I’m sorry we are short staffed tonight.” would have been a normal reaction and there wasnt a reason to be rude. I’m not a mind reader. ♀️ I said Thanks anyway and left.
We went to Shoya the other revolving sushi bar that’s about 18 minutes from Kura where we were met with a very KIND, very patient staff. Our whole family of 5 was able to eat all together after about 20-30 minutes of waiting. We were very happy with the service and the atmosphere!

The sushi is delicious! Customer service is quick, kind, and the environment is very clean and organized. It does get busy and stays busy for a long time, so I will recommend requesting a reservation if they do that. They have a tiny semi-truck on top of the conveyer belt that delivers special orders wish impressed our little guest during our visit. This is a fun experience and would love to visit again! My guest and I do not visit places like this often, so we tried EVERYTHING, and enjoyed EVERYTHING. I cannot offer anything other then my highest recommendation to visit this sushi bar!
