I had a great experience at Maxfield’s Pancake House in Wauwatosa! The food came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious — you can tell everything was made to order. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs cooked perfectly, and even the coffee was spot on. Service was excellent too — our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s clear the staff here take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for a cozy, welcoming place with great food and even better service, Maxfield’s is a must-visit.

Great place to eat! Didnt seem like much when we pulled up but very clean, attentive staff and food was excellent! That old fashion home diner taste (w/o the grease) and portions like i haven’t seen in a while. I got the Garden Eatin, mom the Senior #8, and aunt the tradicional 2 eggs over easy (perfectly made) with huge sausage links and the most fabulous tasty potatoes :))) definitely a happy belly place

Walked into the door, all the employees were in the back. Spent 2 mins waiting to be greeted. Got seated spent another 10 mins before ANYONE even approached our table. Server walks up, says “what do you want to drink”, I say “Hello, how are you today”. We order, I get a coffee…. ice cold, prolly from yesterday. We order our food, everything is luke warm. My plate has a random blueberrie smeared on the plate. This place has gone down a bit.

We came here for brunch. It was a walk-in, and we were seated pretty quickly. The ambiance was sort of in a vintage style. The service was good. We got omelets-big steak and southwestern, which came with 2 sides( pancake/toast and hashbrowns/oven roasted potatoes) . They tasted pretty good, too. I would like to visit here again.

Drove my friend to a clinic that was a quarter mile from this restaurant. It had high ratings and many reviews. I wanted to see how great this place was. Unfortunately it did not leave me impressed.

We entered the restaurant and was seated promptly, however it took the waitress 3-5 minutes before stopping by to greet us and bring water.

My friend and I both got the gourmet burgers. There is a surcharge of $1 for any meat item. They were dry and the veggies in the burger seemed like they were cut a little smaller. It was ok and the bun on top was cold, not sure if the kitchen was cold or if it was kept in the fridge.

On the opposite side of the spectrum the onion rings were a nice change and we’re piping hot but a small serving. They remedied the situation and brought more.

If it was being compared to it’s sister restaurant in Brown Deer there is no competition. The menu was smaller, the burger was average, and it pains me to say, but the service was mediocre. The Brown Deer location wins hands down. Compared to them this is just another restaurant.

Dropped in here for breakfast on a Wednesday around 11:30, and there was plenty of seating available. This is a great place for families, offering a kids menu and booths for seating. The silver dollar pancakes were a perfect size for my 1 year old granddaughter, who ate all of them just using her fingers. The blueberry pancakes were delicious with real, nicely sized blueberries mixed throughout. All the pancakes were nicely sized, light and fluffy. Absolutely perfect! I tried the Eggs Benedict Benny and thought the taste was good, but the English muffin was flattened and not crunchy like an English muffin, and the hollandaise sauce didn’t have that classic sheen I’ve come to expect (if you are big into Eggs Benedict you’ll understand what I mean). Still, the corned beef hash and poached eggs served with it were perfect. This is a casual place with a large menu, great for satisfying any pancake craving you may have.

I’ve eaten many times at the Maxfield’s on Brown Deer/Port Washington. Always experienced reliably abundant good food, served quickly. The same is true here at the Mayfair area restaurant. This was our first visit to this location. I had the breakfast combo that included eggs, hash browns, bacon AND sausage, plus two crepes ($10.99). I paid extra to have fruit added to the crepes ($1.99). This used to come with a small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice but that has disappeared from the menu. Our other order was the country fried steak breakfast which came with potatoes, two eggs, two fried steaks with gravy and two pancakes. You get your choice of what kind of potatoes and what kind of side dish (could have had toast instead of the pancakes). The coffee was strong (which I like) and our cups were refilled as needed. We also had large glasses of ice water and extra napkins.

It was a good, filling breakfast served with skill by a very competent waitress. Wait staff personnel were wearing masks. The restaurant was clean and comfortable.

I ordered my eggs scrambled. They tasted like hotel buffet eggs; I suspect they were not fresh eggs but the type that come in a big bag or pitcher. I would order over medium or some other way next time. Also, when we arrived the hostess was talking on her phone. She lifted two fingers at us which we signaled was correct, grabbed two menus and directed us to a table all without ending or interrupting her phone call. Not a great first impression. These are the reasons for a 4 instead of 5 star review.

The food was good overall and we would definitely go there again in the future.

We had a very enjoyable Sunday breakfast here. The staff was very friendly and attentive even though we came in 55 minutes before closing.

The pancakes were definitely the stars of the show. We had blueberry pancakes and apple cinnamon pancakes.

I also tried the homemade corned beef hash skillet. It is a little strange that their skillet doesn’t seem to involve a skillet though. The hash browns were a little softer than I prefer.

First time visiting. Will be back. Got a lot of food for the price and it was awesome. Waitress was good made me feel right at home. Not a big pancake fan but had all my favorite. Loved the biscuits and gravy.

Maxfield’s is definitely a great spot for brunch. Wasnt too crowded even at peak brunch hours. Got seated right away, service was quick, polite, accurate. Got a nice open seating style atmosphere, but not too noisy.

And the food is mostly standard diner food, but it is a notch above most other diner quality. And they have excellent crepes which is a rarity.

My meat lovers scramble had delicious steak in it so I may go full steak scrambler next time.

Will definitely put it on my list to return.
