Great experience overall. The food was fresh, well prepared, and the service was excellent. The sashimi salad and salmon tempura roll were both delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was very attentive.

The only small surprise was the Sapporo draft at $12, which felt a bit overpriced compared to typical draft prices. Aside from that, everything else was excellent

There’s is no wonder that this restaurant has been around for 30 years and still thriving. The actual space is very clean and well decorated. It has a great layout with dining around the sushi bar, and seating at the bar so that you can also watch them make your rolls. There was both indoor and outdoor seating and what looked like a full bar. We came in for a quick dinner on a Monday night. I had the dragon roll and a side salad. The roll was huge and very well made. Our waiter was very attentive and sweet. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy.

Hiro Japanese is such a welcoming and lively environment.
This was my second visit and the service was amazing as the first one. Kevin was our waiter this time and he was incredibly helpful, friendly and funny. He didn’t rush to answer our questions and he was attentive to detail. The appetizers was the best part of our meal I highly recommend the veggie egg rolls!!!!!

This restaurant is bigger than it looks and it’s guests are diverse. It was delightful to see different ethnicities under one roof to eat, enjoy their time and be serviced!! They are open until 3am, have a bar on one side with multiple TVS, and Hibachi bar on the other with outdoor seating available as well.

Thank you to the owners for setting these expectations and delivering on their quality service consistently on every visit!

Ever since I went to Hiro to try the sushi, I fell in love. It’s the only place I keep going back to—especially because Felipe, the bartender, makes the best lychee martinis and always provides amazing service. Over the past two weeks, I haven’t seen Felipe and truly miss his presence.

I’m sorry but this is the worst sushi I’ve ever had in my life, it’s over priced and doesn’t even have the benefit of tasting good, go to yako san WAY better food. Got a spicy tuna roll FLAVORLESS like how do you mess that up?!?!? it’s tuna and spicy mayo like that’s a great combo and my roll tastes like fish that was lefted out for a day! GOT a california roll TASTED LIKE NOTHING, The dragon roll had filling that WEREN’T COMPLEMENTARY AT ALLLL and it tasted gross the shimp tempura in it was okay but some in it tasted awful, PUBLIX sushi tastes better than this 1/5 of the price.

And I love sushi it’s one of my favorite foods I know the difference between US and traditional sushi and I love both! It’s a great food and one I always look forward to eating but this time I was just greeted by disappointment, I wanted to like it I really did and I try to be positive with my reviews but this is not it.

We had 2 Caipirinha Cocktails
It was super
And we had some short ribs , lobster tail & steak , and breaded chicken breast
Everything was excellent, from presentation to taste
What an experience, we will definitely be back every other weekend

Thank you!!! So much to Hiro and it’s wonderful staff especially Kevin

Used to be one of my favorite spots. They’ve priced out the locals. $100 for just some appetizers and a sake. What’s the mark-up on yakitori? $8 for 5 little cloves of grilled garlic on a stick. Also they charge an extra 3% to use a card. I won’t return.

Our server was absolutely amazing! From the moment we were seated, he was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Felipe checked on us often without being overbearing and gave great recommendations from the menu. The service was quick, our drinks were always refilled, and they made the whole dining experience enjoyable. Definitely one of the best servers I’ve had in a while — we’ll be asking for him next time we come back!

As someone who comes to Hiro Sushi almost twice a week, I’ve always appreciated the great food and warm service. I usually order the lunch special with the salmon cream cheese roll and sashimi salad—one of my favorites. That’s why this experience was so upsetting—not because the salad was a bit stale, but because of how the issue was handled. I only had three bites of the lettuce to notice it was stale, and did not the rest of it.

I politely mentioned the sashimi salad tasted off. My server, Mateo, said he’d check with the kitchen. Instead of remaking the dish or offering a fair replacement, I was given a much smaller salad with no sashimi at all. Mateo mentioned the sashimi tray had been taken away and vaguely suggested swapping fish from the original plate—which had already been removed. The replacement was nowhere near the portion I paid for.

What really upset me was how dismissively the situation was handled. Mateo didn’t clearly explain the issue or make a real effort to fix it. He even said I was “giving him a hard time,” which was frustrating since I was respectful the entire time. I also asked to speak to a manager and was told the general manager was aware—but she never came by to speak with me. Whether she was busy or chose not to approach me, I’m not sure, but it felt dismissive.

I want to be clear: it’s not about the money—it’s about the principle. As a loyal customer who comes here weekly, I expected basic respect and care. Mistakes happen, but how they’re handled matters. I would have appreciated a fresh replacement or even a brief apology from management.

To be fair, other staff—like Rafel, Luis, and the Brazilian hostess—have always been fantastic. They’re part of why I’ve been such a loyal customer. But this visit left me feeling unheard and undervalued. I don’t want to leave a negative review, and I will happily remove this once someone from management reaches out. I’m only writing this because I don’t know how else to be heard, and contacted by management. Please have someone reach out to me, or provide an email, I will again remove this remove once it is properly handled. The way this was handled was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful especially as a loyal customer. This visit has left me uncertain if I want to return, please have management reach out to me.
