I had stopped going there as a regular place, so many great restaurants around so it fell off my regulars. Upon revisiting it today I wonder why. The food is great and service spectacular. The deals, shuold make this place irresistible to couples who love great American food.

The good ol’ @blackangussteakhouse does a lot of things good, but they also do some things great! The jumbo shrimp cocktail and salads are – Great! The service and restaurant were great. Especially considering how old this place is. I love the quiet booths but think they would benefit by lowering the lighting a bit. Too bright!!


We first visited this place in the 80’s. So although we don’t come here often, we do have some fond old memories of the place. During our recent visit we were impressed with how updated everything was. The booths, which have always been their specialty, were in as good of shape as ever. So the vibe is still pretty positive. We had the Campfire Special and the Jumbo Shrimp were enormous, fresh, and delicious. The chicken & rib combination was very good. The filet mignon was definitely a letdown, relative to almost any other steak houses we frequent. Based on Ambiance and food I would normally give this place a solid 4 stars. However, it was the service that was most disappointing.

We had a server, who I won’t name, that came on strong, with a great attitude and efficiency, but over the meal became almost nonexistent and as the meal was finishing she literally disappeared. We waited for like 20 minutes to get the bill then after another 15 minutes we just went up to the front desk to pay. Of course, that backfired because nobody could cash us out but our waitress, who after another 10 minutes of standing around came back with the bill in hand and asked for my signature. That 45 minutes should have been 15 at the most.

We will try coming back again, soon, and I am sure it will be a much better experience.

We were here in November of 2024. It was a great experience. The staff was really accommodating and polite. The food met my expectations. It’s all you would expect from a steak. Well-seasoned, thick, tender, juicy goodness steak. All of it was good. The brusselsprouts were remarkable btw.

Had not been to Black Angus in many years. Seated on time with our reservation. Our server was friendly and attentive during our meal, management delivered our food. So great to see management doing this. We had a Campfire Meal and another ordered the fried shrimp, our starters (soup, salad) came out first then, our appetizer “Wagon Wheel” was next. Everything was temperature appropriate. Main course for the meal was Prime Rib and NY Strip. Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Dessert was the Strawberry Cheesecake and I thought it was better most.

My boyfriend and I have gone to Black Angus Steakhouse in Northridge, CA a few times but on Saturday, Valentine’s Day, we had a bad experience with the check/bill. First, we made a reservation for 6:30 PM. When we got there, we were told that the wait time is 45 minutes. Fine, since it’s Valentine’s Day, we decided to let it go. Food and service were great, like before. We asked for the check. Total was $83.50 plus “Northridge Tax”. I checked the bill and saw that there were no other tax billed, so we just considered it as the sales tax. My boyfriend gave his credit card. Check came (the one where you write the amount of your tip and the total and then you sign). The total was $105 +, $21. + more than the original. I told my boyfriend that we should say something, but he said to let it go but would definitely tell everyone he knows what happened. Since he was paying and was willing to not make a big deal out of the $21 + added to our bill, I kept my mouth shut. This is not right. Needless to say, we decided that after all these years of going to that restaurant, we will not be going there anymore. Think of how many people they did this just on that night alone.

This is a regular spot for us, eat in, take out and delivery. Their food is wonderful and the prices are great. Haven’t had a bad experience ever here. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If it isn’t too busy and you want chat with the waiters most of them are happy to. They also are very helpful if you have questions about dishes. Definitely recommend the bacon cheeseburger, salmon, chicken with bbq sauce, steaks and shrimp, not a bad meal on the menu.

Not gonna lie the food was great! Went there last Friday, But all of that got forgotten by the bitterness of being charged 3 times. The waitress was never rude but she also did swipe the card 3 times before the bank had to block it was not until that happened that she finally came back to inform about the issue, checked the bank and 2 transactions from Black Angus had gone through, she went and brought the manager and even after acknowledging the bank transactions he still asked us to pay a third time with some other form of payment, he said sorry for your charges but since they couldn’t make the computer print then we had to be charged again but that he would call on Monday to get the issue fix, well its now Thursday and it took talking to corporate with very nice lady, Jacquie Manager of Guest relations, the bank, and several confirmation calls after that the extra transactions were able to be refunded. The entire thing was managed very poorly with something that could of been cleared up after the first swipe and by checking the transaction on the bank. Might take another risk because the food was great but will make sure I pay cash to avoid all of that stress again.

Except for the fact that our waitress was training someone and we had an appetizer and salads on table at same time, the food was very good and so was the service. Couple of glitches. We had an appetizer, salad, our entrees with sides and dessert. Oh, and the bread which was warm and fresh. My husband had prime rib 8 oz and loaded baked potato with asparagus. While I had chicken, mashed potatoes, and salad. We had fried zucchini for an appetizer and a chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of ice cream for dessert. The food was good and our company was good. It was a lovely night.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice early Valentines dinner. Last year we went to the San diego location and everything was perfect. We were hoping to recreate that experience but it didn’t really go as planned. First off we made a reservation online. We do not live locally so we gave ourselves an hour to arrive. We checked in about 10 mins early. As we waited, guests were coming in without reservations and seated before us. We thought maybe because we requested a booth but realized these multiple parties were being seated in booths. Confused and upset we considered leaving. It made no sense that you would take care of people without reservations before someone with a reservation. Once we we got to our table ( which was not a booth ), our waitress seemed flustered and all over the place. I waited 15 minutes for a drink refill and honestly she was nowhere to be found. The waiter taking care of the table behind us mentioned specials they were having and an app they offer with discounts. Our waitress never spoke of any of that. We downloaded the app and just listened in to everything that waiter was telling his tables. The food came out great except our fried zucchini. The zucchini pieces were sitting in a lot of grease on the plate. I would suggest downloading the app. We saved about $15 off our bill.
