Hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in Louisville. The fact that this place opened almost 25 years ago is a testament to it’s quality, service, and atmosphere. The happy hour is unmatched. The sushi is fresh, the sake is hot, the beer is cold. What more could you want?

This is one of the best sushi places in Louisville i’ve tried so far! It usually has a little bit of a wait on busy nights, but it is so worth it. The service is lovely and so is the overall vibe of the restaurant. I highly recommend the VIP roll!

This place is my go to spot when I’m visiting back home! The no name is one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had. They light it on fire so you get a slight charred taste but you still get the freshness and creaminess from the salmon. The fried rice is a hidden gem. It has a rich, slightly spicy flavor to it that is very hard to replicate at other places that serve fried rice. Staff here is also very friendly and the environment is very cozy and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place.

We had such a great experience tonight thanks to our waiter, Jordan. From the moment we got seated, he welcomed me and my family with a big smile and made us feel comfortable right away. He was very polite, respectful, and took the time to answer all of our questions. Everything we asked for came out quickly, and he checked on us often without being intrusive.
Honestly, this is the best service I’ve had in my 15 years of living in Louisville. The food was amazing, and the service was even better. Definitely a must-visit, and if you can, ask for Jordan!

I have been to Sapporo in the past, once or twice before. This time I went because I was invited to a birthday gathering for my friend.
My friend called to confirm the reservation and they told her it was at 6:30 (instead of the time in her confirmation email, which was 6:45). When she asked if they could bump it back a bit they said no.
When we got there and they led us to our seats, it was at a long table in the middle of the restaurant, book ended by 2 service stations for the staff (utensils, water, appetizer plates etc), which proved inconvenient when the table wasn’t big enough and one girl had to sit on the end, blocking that station. The reservation said that we had a private party room. This was the opposite of that.
The food was okay, but not amazing for the price. My husband and I prefer Dragon Kings Daughter. I also think there may have been some soy in my sushi rice or something…I felt my body reacting. I’m allergic to soy, but have no problems at Dragon Kings Daughter making safe substitutions. I’m unsure if there was something else in the sushi that was not clear and could have caused this mild reaction. I did appreciate that they made my sushi separately. However, it was done by the time everyone else was at least halfway done eating.
Additionally, they upcharged me a lot for some substitutions I have to make. I understand some upcharge and told them so, but the price seemed excessive.
I won’t go back to Sapporo by choice. We’ll stick with Dragon King’s Daughter!

Taste is great, portions are small.
Their salad with ginger dressing is pretty good.

The restaurant was very clean, and very appealing in the decor. Service was very good. Our waitress was very kind. The food was quite good .. lunch for 2 was close to $40 with an 18% tip (we chose one of the cheapest lunches on the menu) So the prices were a bit high. But the food and atmosphere was good enough that I will go back. But it won’t be my frequent go to lunch restaurant.

Last time I was here has been 23 years ago. Life happened and I ended up moving down to Florida. Drove 11 hours from Florida to come back here. It’s WAY better than 23 years ago. Food is phenomenal! The ambience and atmosphere is something you have to experience for yourself. If you have not been here before, why are you looking at other places? Get yourself over here now! No excuses! Hurry up!

Came down for a work trip from Chicago. I was a bit skeptical about sushi in Kentucky but I was happily surprised. Our waitress was great, the appetizers and sushi tasted amazing as well. Picture included of one of the sushi chefs who posed for a picture as I was trying to snap one of the special rolls board. Lastly their wasabi and ginger was top notch. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Louisville!!
