I returned to the Culver’s on 21st Street in Racine after a previous visit that fell short of expectations. The manager encouraged me to come back and give them another opportunity, and I’m very glad I did—this visit earned five stars.
The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and well maintained, setting a positive tone right away. The staff was friendly, but Davita truly stood out. She was extremely helpful during order selection and very patient when I momentarily misplaced my wallet. Her professionalism and kindness made the experience stress-free and enjoyable.
I ordered a hamburger basket with a drink upgrade, and everything was hot, fresh, and prepared perfectly. The burger was flavorful, the fries were cooked just right, and the drink was ice-cold—exactly what you expect from Culver’s when it’s done well.
This visit was a complete turnaround and showed that this location values feedback and is committed to improvement. Kudos to the manager for encouraging a return visit, and special recognition to Davita for delivering exceptional service.
If you’ve had a mixed experience before, I recommend giving this Culver’s another try—ask for Davita and see the difference for yourself.
The first incident happened about a year ago. I ordered a burger, and when I cut it in half to share with my son, I found a hair embedded in the beef patty. I called the location, and while the employee apologized and offered to remake it, I declined — my appetite was gone. I submitted a complaint through the Culver’s website with photos but never received any follow-up. I let it go, assuming accidents happen — we’re all human.
Fast forward to this year, my husband wanted to give this location another chance since it’s the closest one to us. He ordered chicken tenders — something simple — and while eating, we discovered yet another hair cooked into the breading of the chicken.
This time, I emailed corporate and received a response that, because each location is individually owned, they couldn’t offer a refund. They said they’d forward the issue to the owner, Tim Haman, at the 21st Street location in Racine. It’s now been over a week, and again, no response.
Safe to say we’ve learned our lesson and won’t be returning. Two separate incidents a year apart, no real accountability, and no follow-up from management. Very disappointing.

Never had a problem picking up DoorDash orders here until Sunday night. I was picking up two orders but they had handed one off to another dasher because the customer had placed two orders. There was no “oops, sorry.” The staff was very nonchalant, like it was all the same. They didn’t seem to realize they had just taken eight bucks off my bundle and they had given my order to a dasher who wasn’t assigned to it, who had no way to confirm pickup in their app, who could’ve actually just kept it because they weren’t actually responsible for the order they weren’t assigned.
I saw another negative review where the store responded by directing them to the contact Culver’s site, so I used that first, but wouldn’t you know, they haven’t responded.
