This was my first time dining at P.F. Chang’s while being here on vacation. Upon entering the ambiance of the restaurant was subtle and dimly lit with horse statues toward the front entrance. We let the hostess know that we had reserved a table. She was very kind and chatted with us a bit as we got seated. Our waitress was also very accommodating and was very polite and friendly as well. We began with appetizers, my husband ordered the barbecue pork spare ribs and I ordered steamed shrimp (3)dumplings and fried pork dumplings (3) and had the combination fried rice for my entree.

Fortunately, for my husband he loved the ribs as they were tender and flavorful. My dumplings were tasty but were seemed a little over cooked. The combination fried rice was horrible. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a a very long period of time. I had brown rice and it was dry and kind of tough to chew. The shrimp, chicken, and beef were all dried out and over cooked. It was honestly the worst fried rice I ever tasted.

Thankfully, our waitress was able to get the fried rice taken off of our check. I ordered cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. Overall, the ding experience was a 7.5 out of 10. The service, ribs, dumplings, and the cheesecake made up for the dry fried rice.

The food was okay. I had the pepper steak but it upset my stomach. Kristina put sever was amazing. Give her a raise! Vibe was very stereotypical 90s chain restaurant energy. Take that as you will.

Only complaint. They ran out of soap in the bathroom. The staff were very unhelpful. I was essentially told there wasn’t anyone to fill it up. Very strange response.

Don’t get food delivered from here. I decided to order from here with the idea that it would be the same quality as the restaurant. I got the dynomite shrimp, which were tiny and then they even cut them up into pieces to make it look like the right amount of shrimp. Soo disappointing. You can see the tiny size compared to my fork. The Mongolian mix was soggy and left cold oil feel at the top of your mouth. Don’t think this will be our go to takeout.

The inside is very spacious and relaxed, with many sofa tables. It is easy to handle a large group.
Their food was okay. It was still not great Chinese compared to other authentic Chinese. You may feel the difference if you know good Chinese….
Their service seemed messed up when it was crowded.
Their dessert was good! I highly recommend having them. Please keep your stomach free to allow for that

This location is always beautifully decorated with the seasons. There are large statues of horses inside the restaurant. The fully stocked bar is the center of the restaurant. This location used to have valet parking but when we recently went, the valet parking was gone and there was an over priced paid parking lot next to the restaurant. I believe it was $15 for 45 minutes. There was paid parking on the street but it was full and driving the downtown location is frustrating. The food has improved. Everything was fresh and wasn’t over cooked like in the past visits. The mixed drinks were delicious and presented well! The sauce on the lettuce wraps has changed to a peanut butter flavored sauce. I’m not a fan of it. I preferred the old table sauces. The plates are large enough to share between 2 people. There has been changes/updates to the menu and new items have been brought in. Overall, this visit was pleasant and the staff was attentive and friendly.

We placed an order online and went to pick it up. For the dinner specials, you get to choose a starter and a carb (rice or noodles).

Crispy Green Beans ($11.79): Tempura-battered green beans served with their signature spicy dipping sauce. The green beans weren’t crispy by the time we got home, so I recommend air frying them. I liked that the batter was light, and the beans were tasty and addictive—but extremely oily. I felt terrible after eating them. The dipping sauce (which I think is a spicy mayo) was also really good and paired well with the tempura-battered shrimp from the Dynamite Roll.

Dynamite Roll ($17.59): Tempura-battered shrimp, signature California roll, sriracha aioli, and umami sauce. They used small shrimp, so it was mostly batter. The roll itself was just okay.

Mongolian Beef Dinner Special ($17.99): We chose ½ white and ½ brown rice for our carb. Some of the brown rice was hard and seemed undercooked. The white rice was fine. The egg drop soup was super salty—we had to add a lot of water. The Mongolian beef is made with flank steak stir-fried with garlic, snipped green onion, and a sweet soy glaze. It was better than the crispy honey chicken but still pretty average overall.

Crispy Honey Chicken Dinner Special ($16.99) + Fried Rice ($2): The pork egg roll was huge and really good! Their fried rice was surprisingly delicious—on a whole different tier compared to the white and brown rice. The honey chicken is supposed to be lightly battered in a tangy honey sauce with chives, but it tasted worse than the frozen honey chicken I get from the supermarket. It tasted overly processed, the batter was soggy, and the flavor leaned more tangy than sweet—didn’t taste like honey at all.

My daughter and I ate here on our Ladies’ Trip to Austin. Neither of us had dined at a P.F. Chang’s restaurant before and I have to say it was a fantastic experience!

Our server, Martha, was a doll! Very sweet and personable, yet also professional. We had some very good laughs with her.

Our food was delicious! I ordered the crab wontons and sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was SO good and it had plenty of both protein and veggies, with added surprises of ginger and pineapple. My daughter said her sushi was perfect and both our drinks were very good.

While we do not live in Austin, this location set the tone for the chain.

I have to say, great service, great food selections, and amazing pricing. Every time I pop in it’s always great. I genuinely don’t understand why they are not full blown busy as their other locations.

Parking cam be a little hectic. Avoid the overpriced parking lot next door Valet is cheaper snd more convenient.

Overall, amazing spot for random nights and even date nights for all!

I spent a lot of time trying to think of the right words to say to sell that this is an amazing place to visit but honestly…. Its ok. The menu has been changing for a while and the two dishes that originally brought me back to this restaurant time & time again are gone. The food is edible. I can definitely say this visit was not worth my driving an hour for. But the bartender was amazing and if she worked ANYWHERE else, I’d definitely visit her again. Warmest shout out to Lauren for having an amazing personality and for trying so hard to make this experience enjoyable. For that we are so grateful.
