I stopped here for lunch before doing my HEB shopping, and wow — What a great place! I was seated right away and was thrilled when a basket of rolls was brought with my menu and water. Who does that anymore?

Some basics: You can sit at the bar, at a table, or in a booth. There is a full bar, including a selection of beers on tap. Cocktails are $7 all day and beers are $5. Nice. The Texas Value special (entree plus 2 sides and rolls) is always $9.99, and there’s a different one each day. There are terrific-sounding appetizers as well as desserts. Parking is a complete non-issue since it’s by a huge lot.

The menu was the comfort food I grew up with, with lots of choices that were enticing. I ordered the chicken-fried chicken with gravy on the side. YUM. Since I’m not a fan of garlic-forward recipes, I substituted green beans with bacon (awesome!) and black-eyed peas. My meal was delivered promptly and was truly delicious.

My server was friendly and professional and checked back to make sure I was happy. The manager dropped by as well.

I will be back many times. My only wish was that they had the non-garlic mashed potatoes of my youth.

Excellent place to eat many different home style meals. I loved the “Vegetable Planner” on the menu where you choose 5 sides. All delicious.

Great food and great service!

Food was all bit on the heavier side of what I expected. I split the meal into two and took leftovers to go.

Service was impeccable and food came out within 15 minutes.

My spend was about $40 between the appetizer, patty melt and drink.

Service was prompt and friendly. The flavored tea was wonderful! The corn bread was served warm with cinnamon butter! The meal servicing sizes were large and tasty. The atmosphere was more about the servers talking loudly to each other. The restaurant had about 5 tables seated and I heard more of the servers talking amongst themselves and shouting “who wants donuts” to the kitchen members than I could hear anyone else. It was hard to relax and enjoy the food since we were seated next to the kitchen area but I plan on returning for another meal soon.

If I could give this place and their employees zero stars, I would. From the get go, the online ordering process was horrible. The food we received was absolutely horrible, too! The meat loaf was tiny, and the chicken fried steak was tasteless. The salad had no dressing, even though we ordered ranch. The salad also had bell peppers in it that were slimy, obviously old, and inedible. Gross! This place has gone so far down that it’s really sad. We called 3 separate times to talk to a manager and were so irritated after each call that it was probably the worst ordering experience ever. Don’t waste you time or money here!!

We stopped here for lunch. I had chicken fingers and fries, my wife had shrimp and pasta. Both meals were good, both in food quality and portions. The queso appetizer was a little thin, but the flavor was good. The waiter was attentive and friendly. There’s no real atmosphere to speak of, but it was clean and in good order. I would eat here again.

Cotton Patch is our go-to place when we want a good home-cooked meal. Our server, Haden, was very nice and attentive but not too pushy. My wife loves the salads and the chicken fried chicken. I’ve always favored the pork chop and the meatloaf dinners. Prices are very reasonable too. It’s not a fancy place but it always delivers a great meal.

Delicious dining experience. Their fried green tomatoes are wonderful and my husband and I ordered and shared the chicken fried steak which was amazing. Friendly server who was very sweet and attentive. Wish we lived closer so we could dine there more often! Oh, and it was a few days past my birthday but my husband mentioned we were there for my birthday and even though it wasn’t the day of, our server gave me a choice of menu desserts at no charge. We shared the warm blackberry cobbler and ice cream! Homemade fresh!
