We chose Buck’s Steak and Bar-B-Que because of its convenient access to the Interstate. The atmosphere is very casual. Our server was friendly but not overly attentive. The food we had was good with a buffet and cook to order options.

Great food and solid prices! The BBQ is the highlight, and the 1 or 2-meat buffet for $18–$22 is a great value. If you aren’t doing the buffet, the ribeye with a bacon-loaded potato is a must-try. I’m a regular for a reason!

I ordered a 16oz ribeye which was the most expensive steak on the menu, baked potatoes and a salad. The waitress told me they were out of salad. (Mind you this was 7 in the evening) so I asked if they had corn and she said yes. About 5 minutes later she came back and told me that the day’s vegetable was green beans. I guess you can’t order a vegetable that’s not been sitting in a pot all day. Whatever. The steak comes out and looks good. Baked potatoe and green beans the same. I cut into the steak and it was cooked how I ordered medium. It had zero seasoning on it. I would say at least 30% of the 16oz was fat. I don’t hate fat but it had a lot. Potato was hard and took 10 minutes to melt my butter, never melted the cheese I put on it. Green beans were as I expected being the vegetable of the day. At the end of the day it might have been the worse steak I’ve ever eaten. $55 and this review is all I have to show for it.

I am currently doing a project in Sweetwater and wanted a good steak went to Skeet’s the night before and it was good but not what I had in mind when you think of Texas and steak . So thought I would give Buck’s a shot and atmosphere was very nice and waitress was very nice and attentive. So I ordered the 16oz Ribeye medium rare and mixed vegetables and a side salad with blue cheese and a 1/2 and 1/2 tea. Everything was good besides the steak, when they said 16oz. I think they meant 4 oz cause after I cut off all the grizzle not fat grizzle I was left with about 4 oz, it was the worst Ribeye I have ever had and besides the quantity of meat it was dry no juices at all on a medium rare steak how is that even possible? If someone knows please explain how to me!

It’s a little weird that so many reviews over the past ~6 months are 1-3 star reviews. Makes ZERO sense. Last time I was there, with a big company party, I had the buck steak (big one). It was AMAZING. Everyone that went, love the quality of steak. We only go there for the steak dinners. I haven’t had the BBQ. I’m sure it’s amazing too. A good friend and his wife went tonight for the prime rib. They said it was amazing!! I feel like people have been trolling these reviews the past 6-12 months!! We drive a two round trip to go to Bucks. Recent bad reviews are BS/trolls. We come from Ponca city to eat there.

I paid 40 bucks for something I wish I ate at McDonald’s. It would’ve been better. Also to meet the little, I ate after I almost got choked from chewing it so much was bland and no flavor

I would give a higher score, but they told us that it was cash only after we finish eating. They did say there is a ATM in the back, but if we had know it was cash only we would have gone elsewhere.
The food was good, but I think I had heard about this place for nine years and that the food was awesome. So I hyped the food in my head.

So I had the two meat plate with brisket and ribs. Accompanied by a side of potato salad coleslaw and some macaroni salad. The brisket was soft and tender, very juicy, nice smoke on the meat. The ribs were falling off the bone, and it was rich and fatty, very delicious. Service was excellent, fast and friendly good value for money I had to take a doggy bag.

We came in based on a recommendation by the RV park we were at overnight. I don’t understand the negative reviews I read. The staff was attentive, though the first young lady we talked to couldn’t tell us whether the ribs were beef or pork. Big difference.
We had ribs and turkey. We thought they were delicious. We also really liked the coleslaw. My husband had beans and seemed to enjoy them.
I ordered onion rings that didn’t arrive until we were about finished eating and they didn’t seem hot, which was weird. I didn’t care for them.
The price seemed the going rate to me, but I’m from California.

I placed a to go order and it was prepared fast and perfectly. The wings were hot and the salad was fresh! Not to mention one of the ladies chased me down in the parking lot to make sure I had silverware! Definitely above and beyond. First time in Sweetwater, but now I Definitely have a reason to return!
