I absolutely looove this particular restaurant. They have amazing and friendly service…and the food has always been cooked to perfection ex: I love to get Burbon street chicken and at other locations I received the chicken being a bit too chard and sometimes dry. I have ate at this specific location multiple times and have not ever let with disappointment with the service, quality of food, drinks, or prices. ❤️

My family & I came out for lunch yesterday. They seemed busier than usual for a Sunday, but we still didn’t have to wait to be seated. We were still trying to all get situated when our server showed up! We were surprised at how fast she got there considering how busy they were. From the first time she introduced herself (Lara) until the time we left, she never stopped moving. She got our drink order & was back before we had even had time to look at the menu. She told us to take our time, that she had a table ahead of us that she needed to get their order & then she would be right back. She did just that. We ordered one of the new trios for an app. She left to put that in and was right back with little plates for us. We were still not sure what we wanted to eat. She said that was fine, she had been sat another table and was going to greet them and come right back. I knew what I wanted when I walked in, so I was just watching our waitress. It made me exhausted just watching her. She came back & got our order. She then came right back with our appetizer. It was amazing (as usual). I watched her talk to all her tables and make sure they didn’t need anything. From what I saw, Lara really wants to make sure her guests have everything they need. We got our food. WOW!!! My steak was cooked to perfection, and our entire order was hot and tasty when it arrived. Kudos to the cooks for being on top of their game. We have always loved Applebee’s and will continue to try new items when they come out. Lara suggested dessert, but we couldn’t hold another bite. Our entire lunch visit was absolutely fantastic. Monica & Ashley (both were managers) also came by to make sure we were having a great visit. Keep up the awesome work Applebee’s. We will definitely ask for Lara next time we come in. She took care of us like we were family. Thank you, Lara, for all your hard work, and for taking such good care of us.

Ok just to be clear my four star ratings are meant to be a compliment. I reserve the last star or 5th for outstanding performances. Applebee’s has become a very mature restaurant chain. However they still innovate and offer great menu choices. All of which are quite good. They give you clear nutrient information. Which is crucial for many and should be paid closer attention too by us all. This is my only complaint which for some maybe a another reason to patronize. The portion sizes for there entrées is quite large. So much so, we occasionally, just split one entrée and its still plenty. The service was very good the host, waiter, and manager all engaged with us. Also pay at the table with their q code works everytime and quickly. So if you haven’t eaten at a Applebee’s in a while give it another try their all time favorites still exist alongside many new offerings and of course adult beverages.

I saw an advert about this place and the quality confirms it for me: Ads always are lying.
My entreé was fine. I got the chicken tenders platter and the fries were very good. The appetizers were lackluster, I got the pretzel and the mozzarella sticks.
My server was very nice and the atmosphere is mainly the reason why my rating is not lower.

Applebee’s of Morganton did an amazing job today. As soon as you walk in, the had a tribute to fallen soldiers. The General Manager came to our table to get our ordered started because of a short staff. Honestly, I couldn’t tell if thet were short staffed because our service was amazing. It looked like everyone working today was on the same page…..working with other servers, filling drinks and helping with request from other customers. I wish I could remember the young lady’s name that is the General Manager because she deserves to be recognized!
You did an amazing job showing the Veterans at my table and others the appreciation for their sacrifice to make this country so great! You do a great job of leading and showing professionalism in a hustle bustle situation. And You made my Buddy and his fellow Veterans feel appreciated by your efforts. Your staff did a great job as well, the servers and for sure the folks cooking(chefs)-the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a great experience on Veterans Day.

I am gluten free and this location has always been very accommodating. They always cook my steak perfectly and have good drink specials too. My daughter loved all the TVs and the kids menu options.

How do I describe the Applebee’s in Morganton, North Carolina? The building itself is acceptable except for the complete lack of comfortable seating. The waitstaff look tired and disinterested in their jobs. When they screw up your meal, you don’t send it back to get fixed or remade unless you want them “giving it the extra special care/treatment” or “adding special sauce,” as in the kitchen staff or your server doing something nasty to your food, including but not limited to saliva, hair, or in some cases putting extra protein on for a topping.
The Applebee’s in Morganton today was especially bad. When I arrived with my elderly friend, they refused to seat us in a comfortable location with a booth. Instead, they gave us these chairs that feel like they were designed by the head inquisitor Torquemada from the Spanish Inquisition. You cannot get comfortable in them at all. And they are so narrow that, no matter how heavy or how slim you are, either your butt crack is what you sit on or one butt cheek falls completely off the chair.
Then a couple who came in fifteen minutes after us — we were waiting so long that I was looking at my clock frequently and I am completely sure of the exact time — received their food approximately twenty minutes ahead of us. One of them ordered steak and the other ordered chicken. You could see the plates clearly when the waitress carried them right past our table. I am not saying that Applebee’s is deliberately discriminating, but when I take out my friend who is an eighty-five-year-old service-connected disabled combat veteran and we are made to wait while a couple who arrived after us is served their food before us, it smacks of some serious unfair treatment.
Then, on top of everything else, my steak was not well done. We were there for a total of one hour and fifty-eight minutes from the time we walked in until the time we left. How it is possible that you cannot cook a steak well done in that amount of time is beyond me. I mean, knock off ten minutes because within ten minutes she had taken our order and placed it with our drinks. The appetizers came out and they were correct. I mean, it is hard to mess up pretzels and warm beer cheese, but you know this is Applebee’s and somehow they still managed to ruin my steak. Well done means there should not be any pink or red or bleeding at all. This thing, when I cut into it, had a definite red slice running through it that covered about two-thirds of the entire steak. So the cook is either incompetent, stupid, or simply unable to read the ticket properly. I do not know which one of the three it is.
And the waitress kept offering excuse after excuse. When the manager finally got over to our table, she tried to pressure me into accepting the mistake even though it was obviously not prepared the way I had ordered it. I finally told her, “Ma’am, this item needs to be removed from my bill right now,” and she replied, “Okay, you do not have to be so defensive about it. I will take it off,” like she was doing me some kind of big favor. She was not doing me a favor — she was simply confirming what a poorly run operation this has become.
Now I am posting this as a review and I am also sending it directly to corporate. That way, maybe they will take the necessary steps to save this restaurant because it used to be worthy of eating at. Nowadays I do not know what has happened to the standards or the priorities, but for goodness’ sake they need to hire some capable staff who can actually do the job and actually serve the customers and rebuild the restaurant’s reputation. Because right now this location is performing terribly and the experience is completely unacceptable.

This was absolutely the best chicken Parmesan I have ever eaten in my life. The chicken was tender. It was moist. It was thick and juicy everything about. It was delicious. Thank you Applebee’s in morganton you outdid yourself. Thank you for a great experience tonight.
