The Peño burger is fire. Not as big as I thought it would be but it is very good. The fries were fresh, crispy and still hot. Definitely coming back again to try out the breakfast and other burgers. Our waitress was considerate and super cool. Mom had the grilled cheese, solly chips and chili. She ate it all and she said the chilli is very good.

I’m so disappointed to see some of these reviews. This is the best butter burger I’ve ever tasted! Don’t order a butter burger if you are looking for health food. My husband and I both got butter burgers and we were in love with them. Our daughter got the grilled cheese and was very happy! Great diner. Made you feel like you were stepping back in time. 5 stars!

My first visit after hearing all the hype. Unfortunately, I found the service to be very slow. There was no wait to be seated. Just 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken. The burger was good, but for me nothing outstanding. I get the history and the hype. But my overall experience with the food and service was just OK. It did seem to be on the expensive side for the size of the burger.

The burger is ok, a little too much butter for my liking, especially if you’re a visitor from out of town. The locals will tell you that you need to ask for light butter.
The cheese curds were excellent, which I have come to expect when traveling through Wisconsin.
Having dang red cream soda on tap was also a plus.

The most delicious butter burger ever! Great fries and real chocolate malts. Counter seating only. Often long wait for seating as it is a small place. Homemade pies served warm!

Wisconsin is winning! Up the street from Sprecher (spelling) brewery is one of the best butter burgers in the state. The staff is friendly, people of all ages and races enjoying their (crispy) friend and tasty burgers in a soda shop type setting. Awesome.

Steven had good customer service! He was short-handed and did well. This is the BEST burger I have ever had the pleasure of eating. It was mouthwatering delicious. It was so good, it tasted better without ketchup. Don’t just take my word for it. They won a James Beard Award for it. This is like The Grammys of food awards. I had Solly’s Original Butterburger with stewed onions and added cheese(because I am a cheesehead). For the men, I recommend ordering two burgers. I also had an order of French Fries and a Coca-Cola. The decor is homey feeling. The bar is the original bar even though the restaurant has moved! *Photograph disclaimer* this photograph is unedited sitting in Joe Bartolotta’s seat. Joe passed away in 2019, but his legacy lives on.

The BEST burgers i have ever had, period. The fries are AMAZING, the Malts are SPECTACULAR! Not a huge place, that’s what I like, old soda fountain style seating. I will be trying their grilled cheese next time. I had the Super Super Burger.

It is an old house conversion. So as you walk in its front porch, and then you seat on bar wrapped around the cook and wait staff.
Like eating in grandmas living room. The decor is older antic but clean not dusty or just there . Very interesting and a great experience.
This is the original butter burger so you do need to be aware and love buttered burger.
Great crisp fries and the meat is to perfection.
Not to mention the fountain drinks and malts.
It is a smaller place but worth the effort to stop in. It is off major exits so it is not way out. There are plenty of parking spaces.

This is a great diner with counter service. Great coffee! There is a real nostalgic feeling this place gives you. The wood paneling makes you feel like you are up north. The burgers are dripping with butter & juices – so good! The soups are really good as well!
