We went here for Mother’s Day (2025) and it was a wonderful experience. We were greeted promptly, and then seated quickly. We chose the hibachi side, and it was a very fun experience. My family (husband, myself, 6 year old son, and 3 year old daughter) really enjoyed the overall show. Our waitress was very quick with refills and taking orders. The food was delicious, and plentiful we left with FOUR boxes! I also had several pieces of sushi and I felt it was prepared well, and tasted very fresh. Will be going back again! I want to note it is pricey but for the amount of food and the show it is well worth it.

Had a great experience celebrating a double birthday with family and friends. Kobe’s was the perfect venue. Lots of seating, fast service, good portions, and great taste.
The staff were friendly and everything was clean and well kept.
Its easy to give them 5-stars.

I ordered the filet mignon which was a bit salty but still savory. Since it was a Japanese steakhouse, the chef prepared all the food on a griddle before your eyes.
The fried rice was quite good. I’m purty sure Uncle Roger would rate this rice with an emphatic ‘fuiyoh’!
The only thing I didn’t like was the shrimp. Probably because I don’t like shrimp that much.

Atmosphere is becoming extremely outdated. Starting to look gross and honestly greasy. The staff took forever. I had an 8pm reservation, got there 10min prior, then waited 1 hour to be seated. So while we all waited, I went to the bar which had 1 person sitting there. Waited over 15 min to get a beer. When we were sat at 9pm, we then didn’t get any food until 9:55pm.
So from a 8pm reservation to a 9:55pm to eat. If you’re not going to hold strong on a reservation then please let your customers know. We had plan to leave by this time for other plans for the night. Also, seats are beat up.

OH GOODNESS! I googled for days trying to find the best hibachi grill for my Asian boyfriend (picky about good food) and it kept popping up Kobe’s in Independence. I just kept saying, “NO! I want to be in downtown KC or crossroads.” But all the reviews and suggestions pointed here. I live down the street so I just wanted to go somewhere different.
Lo-and-behold THIS PLACE WAS EPIC! The environment is absolutely way better branded and decorated than anywhere else in kc. All the other hibachis looked so uninviting. This place had all sorts of good vibes. From the entry bar where you can sit for drinks while you wait, to the quieter sitting room and bar to its left, to the open seating area like a whole dining room in itself for those guests waiting also, and then of course, the hibachi dinner areas where everyone is sitting around a cozy table in comfy chairs or wall bench seating. The servers were all incredible. There was such a huge team we interacted with: the host upon arrival, the first bartender super kind and helped make great suggestions, the other host who took us to our seat, the women who brought everything to our tables and took orders, the chef full of fun energy! It’s a whole operation but doesn’t feel chaotic at all.
Totally family friendly too! I’d bring anyone here. The food was excellent, the environment and decor was enjoyable, and everyone was having such a good time.
It is a little pricey however. Probably a one time experience for a family bc that can get expensive. But worth it.
Also, cocktails were only $8! Whaaaat? And so delicious. I’d go back just for that weekly.
And apparently people do. We saw friends here and they are literally regulars.

A great time with great food. Never walk away hungry. Always walk away with extra food. The service was excellent. I had the Steak and Shrimp. This pic is before everything was placed on my plate. It was absolutely delicious.
