Cool little local spot to grab food and drinks where you can pull up in your boat (dock or right onto the sand).
There’s a small beach and an extra bar area with live music.
I am not a local (yet ) and felt a little overdressed arriving with a collared polo, khaki shorts and tennis shoes. So feel free to come as you are with swim trunks and flip flops.
The food was good and the staff were friendly.
They probably need a little more help to keep things cleaned up and don’t be surprised to see the staff smoking behind the bar…but don’t let that deter you from enjoying the views.

Haven’t eaten the food yet. Planning on it in near future, this is my newest treasure!! My pups ABSOLUTELY LOVE coming here, my little chihuahua loves to just roam and greet, while my other sweet blue heeler wants to play fetch!

Very casual beach restaurant with an outside deck water front, wooden benches, dogs allowed, far from fancy with decent burgers and pizza. The Bushwackers are very good!

Just okay. We came here after being told by some locals that it was a great haunt. We were disappointed by the low quality food, the underwhelming service and the dirty establishment and beach. We got a burger and onion rings and a couple of margaritas. It was pricey for the low quality. We love dogs and I thought it was pretty cool that dogs are allowed on the small section of beach. It was littered with trash so I’m glad we didn’t bring our dog.

Reviewed as one of the best burgers in gulf shores, we were not disappointed. Burger was a thick well cooked nicely seasoned hand patty. Heavy on the mustard but very good. Fries were meaty wedge just undercooked. The onion rings were crispy and delicious. Absolutely loved the decor and getting there was not on the beaten path tourist would naturally travel.
Service was fast and helpful except kitchen staff that were young and invested in their phone.
I would recamended for those wanting good food and a fun hole in the wall off the strip

If I could leave NO STARS THEN THAT IS WHAT I WOULD DO….I am leaving a bad review bc we have tried 2 different times to eat there and the 1st time the family went they were closing up at 8 pm even though it said that they were open. The 2nd time my husband and I went was New Year’s day. It started on the Internet that they were open but they were closed in the middle of the day. After 2 attempts and both times closed, I am not sure if I want to go back.

Pirates Cove is a great place to bring your dogs! They can run and swim and have fun on the dog friendly beach. It isn’t super huge but it’s big enough for them to have fun. The staff’s dogs run off leash everywhere so be prepared for that and make sure you don’t bring any unfriendly dogs. They serve food and drinks but didn’t have any iced tea which was disappointing and they only serve pizza on weekends. The cheeseburger and fries were good and hot though and they have fountain drinks. Basically it’s a place for your dogs to have beach time since it’s really difficult to find any beaches that will allow dogs.

This place rules. Simple but tasty food, killer drinks, rad dogs all over and the place is a VIBE! You’ll be stoked, trust me!

Not much to look at is what makes it so worthwhile. Boats pulling in, vehicles driving up. All for the food and atmosphere. Gracious counter people who take your order. The burgers are phenomenal. Fries and onion rings just as good. Chicken tenders Yumm.
