José was our server and we had an excellent experience. His recommendations were very helpful as I couldn’t decide what to order. The vegan chimichanga with chorizo was so good I couldn’t stop eating. 11/10 would recommend

Best vegan Mexican meal I’ve had in years. They have a whole vegan menu with staples like tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, quesadillas, etc… complete with seitan meat substitutes and non dairy cheese and cream that kinda make the meal complete. Everything you see in my photo was completely vegan. Tacos al pastor and a chimichanga, complete with rice and beans. The only thing it was missing was a tasty vegan desert – maybe some day. Shout out to the staff, specifically José, for catering to our experience. Highly recommend.
Debe visitar se tiene una dieta vegana para comida mejor. Los precios son reasonables y los empleados son pacientes. Que bueno este restaurante. Comprámos tacos y una chimichanga (los dos con “al pastor” vegan). Nos encantamos!!!

This spot is a go-to for tasty Mexican food in a casual setting. The menu has a great variety, from tacos and fajitas to hearty entrees, all full of flavor and served fresh. The margaritas are a nice bonus, and the atmosphere is lively without feeling overwhelming. It’s a solid choice for a relaxed meal with friends or family.

My wife and I ate here before we went to see System of a down and Avenge Sevenfold at soldier field. Cute little place. We ate outside. It was very nice. I ordered the steak tacos. She got a chimmichonga. Very delicious. The waitress was very nice and our food came out quick.

Hole in the wall type restaurant with solid good food. Nachos were excellent. Chicken enchiladas Verdes were nice but nothing special. Free chips were not refilled although we ate every one of them waiting for our food. We requested salsa Verdes for our chips. Red salsa was the winner. Green salsa was not very good.

The food was very bland. I got a steak burrito. It didn’t have any tomatoes, no onion. It was just lettuce and steak. The beans were blend. The rice was dry. I will not be going back.

Love the food and drinks thanks guys…it’s amazing place after working all day with g.d. decorating & sons & tom from junk-lovers. Thanks La Cantina for making our whole crew feel welcomed

The food was just okay. The guacamole was fresh but lacked flavor—it needed more seasoning. The Tamarind cocktail was overly too sweet not sour and weak. The main dish, Quesabirria was a bit greasy and underwhelming in taste, though the fresh side items were a nice touch. Service was fine, nothing memorable. They even did choose the 22% tip themselves. Overall, it’s a place you might settle for if you have no other options. You won’t hate the experience, but it’s not somewhere you’d choose to return to unless you have to.

A mixed experience. Excellent food – taking us to the 4 ⭐️ rating. Terrible ramshackle ambience and decor (not sure that phrase is suitable) with the sink in the men room being the only nice interior element in the entire restaurant. Service covered the full range from friendly, indifferent to semi-rude. But again – the food is excellent.
