If you’re looking for the perfect spot right on the Thames, Gaucho Richmond is it. That terrace under the old tree has an unbeatable vibe, especially at sunset. The steak is, predictably, stellar I’d go for the Churrasco de Lomo every time; it’s literally like butter. The service makes you feel special without being stiff, and the fact they’re dog-friendly is a huge win. It’s the place you go when you want to be 100% sure the food and the view will hit the mark.

A truly memorable birthday experience!

I had such a wonderful time at Gaucho Richmond for my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was perfectly prepared. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm, inviting, and elegant, making the evening feel really special.

The manager and the team serving the dishes were incredibly friendly and kind – you could really feel their care and attention throughout the evening. Everyone was so welcoming, making the experience feel personal and delightful.

An amazing riverside steak experience alongside the picturesque River Thames in SW14, arguably the most perfect location in London!

The service was impeccable, as the waitress juggled through both indoor and outdoor patrons but always maintained a smile despite the infamous British / European heatwave. Kudos to her for her tremendous service.

Each dish was faultless despite there being, possibly 100+ guests being served simultaneously! The ribeye was good! Filet was even better, but I was stunned and mesmerised by the sirloin! This was the gold standard.

All of starters were exceptional, and probably required several additional top ups! The salad was very green, and executed to perfection despite this being a steakhouse, as attention and due care was given here!

As for the dessert, you only need to look at the readiness of the patrons roaring to attack! The crumble definitely was the choice to be had!

Overall… exceptional…

My mum and I had another absolutely wonderful experience here because of the incredibly kind and generous service from a couple of the managers, including Chad and our lovely waiter too. We were very well looked after throughout and were made to feel very special. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience and service. We are very grateful. ✨

It’s really a shame that Gaucho has one of the nicer locations, especially if you’re able to sit near the window facing the water (vs being cramped in the back), and the service was also great but the food… where to even begin. We ordered 6 Sunday Roasts, and all of the additional sides (Cauliflower Cheese, Mac & Cheese and Tomato Salad) — each plate of roast looked different, some had 5 potatoes some had 2, one of the roasts was definitely sitting out because one side was rare and the other wasn’t. We sent it back and they got us a new one which was nice. BUT for the price, there should be more consistency. All Mac&Cheese tasted like burnt oil, we also sent that back and asked for them not to replace it. The Cauliflower Cheese was so mushy and overdone. Let’s not forget dessert, The apple crumble, had 0.5% crumble, looked more like bread crumbs it was such a sad excuse for a home loved dessert and the Hot Cookie Dough, which arrived and was straight dust, after we told the waiter, she informed us it was Gluten Free, which is not consistent with the description on the menu.

A great riverside lunch spot! Very beautiful restaurant in a perfect location. Food very good, I had the pumpkin ravioli which was delicious and my friend had the chicken Milanese – also very delicious. We shared the chocolate torte for dessert which was heavenly! Reasonable prices, great choice of drinks. Would highly recommend for a nice lunch. Big shout out to our server Matthew who was wonderful – he definitely knows his stuff and was very friendly

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this time I feel I have to.

What was supposed to be a nice evening turned into something quite upsetting — not so much because of the food, but because of what we witnessed.

We arrived at the restaurant about 50 minutes later than our reservation time, so it was understandable that our indoor table was no longer available. We were offered a table outside instead. We were told that the main heated area was full, but there was another space where we could sit. It was February, slightly raining, and the heater next to us wasn’t working. Still, we were hungry, so we agreed.

The staff took our order quickly and the service itself was polite. But what happened next stayed with us long after we left.

Shortly after we sat down, a mother and her daughter were seated next to us. It was obvious they were freezing. They ordered quickly, trying to warm themselves up, but their portions were small and they looked increasingly uncomfortable. After a short conversation, we learned it was the mother’s birthday. The daughter had booked this restaurant a month in advance as a gift for her.

They lasted about 30 minutes before paying and leaving. You could clearly see they were disappointed. A birthday dinner ended early because it was simply too cold to stay.

We wished her a happy birthday as they left.

What shocked us happened right after. A man with two sons was seated at the same table — and at that exact moment, the heater was suddenly turned on. Just as we were paying our bill.

We sat there in silence, genuinely stunned.

It was hard not to think about the birthday that ended in the cold while the warmth appeared only after they were gone. I still regret not paying for their meal — maybe it would have made their evening a little kinder.

For the record, the steak itself tasted good, but it arrived cold, probably from being carried outside.

I am not writing this out of anger. Just sadness. Restaurants are not only about food — they are about how people feel while they are there. And that evening, it felt like kindness was missing.

If the daughter and her mother ever happen to read this: I hope you celebrated somewhere warmer afterwards. You deserved a much better birthday dinner.

Decent quality and well executed for a chain restaurant. Visiting always brings back memories of Puerto Madero in BsAs.

The set lunch menu was good value – too tempting to pass up when strolling along the Thames path on a sunny day. Although with drinks, service etc the headline price easily doubles or triples ! Still acceptable value though and the food was OK as well (not mind blowing but pretty decent).

Service was attentive, prompt and friendly. Recommended for pleasant riverside dining on a rare sunny day during the British winter.

10/10 service and food, can’t fault it at all, the staff and management are amazing. Wr appreciate them so much.
We arrived soaking wet from the rain unfortunately, but management were so attentive and they warmed our coats for us in the office, gave us Prosecco on the house and a discount on our bill too. We love it here best steak ever
