this place had such a cozy wind down vibe, perfect for a night cap or post dinner drink! they have a beautiful bar filled with records, jazzy music, and a bunch of 4 person tables inside. outside they have heaters and benches or tables and are able to seat a larger party.
we arrived around 8ish on a saturday night and it was packeddd. unfortunately they don’t take reservations so the inside tables and outside tables were all in use when our party of 5 arrived. they were able to seat us at the outdoor fire area though. it was a chillier night so we sat pretty close to the fire and it was pretty smoky. they did provide a blanket outside though!
although we were seated basically completely away from the other tables and people, the servers were very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. we ordered the dirty martini, all night company (banana espresso martini), femme fatal and the hoshi zora (the lavender matcha drink). the Hoshi Zora was my favorite! very smooth and despite the lack of color it has very good flavor, a little more expensive than i was expecting for the size of drink you get but i liked the vibes enough i would come back for special occasions.

Super vibey small neighborhood bar that plays cool albums and focuses on Japanese inspired food and drinks. They also have an outdoor area however we visited in the winter so didn’t get to ck that out.
PROTIP: take your drink to the bathroom and make use of the toilet seat experience .

If I could come to this low-fi spot every night, I would. It is warm, inviting, and cozy, with some of the best music I have ever heard in a restaurant/bar. The vibe makes you want to linger, and the creativity they put into their cocktails shows in every glass.

They also have a menu that looked tempting, though I did not get to try it this time. I did have their Chocolate and Black Sesame Sandwich, and it was a quiet showstopper. The sprinkle of salt on top was just enough to make the flavors pop in the most satisfying way.

Simple, but done with care.

Such a unique experience as a first-time visitor, and I already can’t wait to come back! It’s a very different vibe if you’re tired of the same bar scene on repeat. Also, the staff is amazing and so attentive! I’m obsessed and will recommend to family and friends!

My husband and I are l fans of Japanese culture and the simplicity that surrounds it. We were happy to have taken the opportunity to try. XO HiFi. We appreciated the intimate nature of the cocktail bar, the retro speakers and simple Japanese touches throughout the space. Even if it’s not necessary, make a trip to the restrooms. We were impressed with the service, the well-crafted drinks and the music playing in the background. We arrived early, but by the time we left, the bar was full. We commented to each other that we would come back and bring out of town, guests and friends.

I found this place through a KC magazine that listed it as a top sandwich spot. Turns out, they no longer serve sandwiches—just bar snacks now.

The cocktails were solid, so it’s fine if you’re just stopping in for a drink. That said, the lack of a posted menu, inconsistent hours between Google and their website, and no option for reservations makes planning a visit a bit of a gamble.

XO is a five-week-old, one room, vinyl-spinning, Japanese inspired cocktail and small bites bar in the eclectic Westside neighborhood that we found to be delightfully unpretentious and full of flavor. After a 25% tip the two of us spent ~$143 on two Pork Katsu sandwiches (delicious), one Salmon Bowl (delicious), and four cocktails (delicious). That said, between the HH menu and reasonable prices one could spend much less. SADE and Boz Scaggs were among the many artists in the rotation the evening we visited. The music was just the right volume, the servers were quick, precise (in their food prep), super-friendly and accommodating, and the street parking was easy to find. We’re already looking forward to returning.

Hifi/audiophiles dream spot. Food, drinks (non alcoholic mocktails) and service was excellent Attention to detail is evident! I could sit there for hours and hours basking in the sound of the retro Altec Valencia 846a loudspeakers. Gave me ideas for record shelving! Keep it up. I’ll be back for some tunes.

Such great detail went into this place and you can feel it. The vibe is so chill from the moment you walk in. Asian inspired cocktails and food. I loved all the vintage furniture. A great spot to chill after a long day.
