Great little in spot with some of the best pies on the planet. Breakfast and lunch items are good. If your Grandma had a restarurant, this fits the bill – in a very good way. Their award winning pies are outstanding, though. The Banana Creme is tops. Purchase a whole pie to go. Keep the tin, and then when you make a return visit, they give you a $6 credit when you bring it back.

My first time. My parents come here several times a year from Illinois. It’s absolutely worth the trip. The food was delicious and I stocked up on bakery cookies and cranberry wild rice bread!!

Quaint diner with Norwegian flair! We only stopped for lingonberry jam but got enticed into lunch by the smells. The cranberry Wild rice bread was so delicious we grabbed a loaf to go home. The Wisconsin Reuben was delicious and lots of butter and sauerkraut so you didn’t even need the thousand island. The corned beef hash was a bit salty but I’ll take homemade over the canned stuff any day!

The pies are incredible!
The grilled “chicken” wrap in lefse was terrible- the chicken was not fresh meat, rather processed chicken that was rubbery and even had air bubbles in it from when it was injected into the mold…. No bueno!!
However, the cranberry chicken almond sandwich was great as was the turkey roast with mash potatoes – that comfort food was reminiscent of a meal at my grandmas kitchen!
One waitress was trying to handle everybody and it was busy.

Kinda disappointing, it’s been years since I ate at a Norske Nook, in Rice Lake WI. However this trip to the Osseo restaurant was not nearly as memorable. My omelette, ham and cheese, was fairly tasteless not much flavor at all, the hash browns were good and crunchy, like I like them, and the jam for the toast was good. I had a piece of raspberry cream cheese pie to go, and I’d swear that the whipped topping was basically “cool whip”. I can’t imagine an award winning blue ribbon pie would have Cool Whip on it. They did have a sign stating that they were short staffed, but it was really disappointing to wait for a table, watch them walk past, not take a drink request, or clean off tables that were dirty prior to me being seated. I don’t mind waiting, if things are being done appropriately, as such I ordered breakfast at about 2:15 pm and got 1 cup of coffee and was never asked if I needed or wanted a refill. I’ve been at restaurants that have been in a similar situation and have had much better service and food.

This restaurant was recommended by my group when I was planning a road trip around Wisconsin. I wasn’t disappointed. We really wanted a Reuben sandwich. It was delicious, and I highly recommend stopping here. Please open the patio outside for those traveling with dogs. We had to take food to the car because there was nowhere to eat outside.

Food is good. Pie is GREAT! We’ve been known to drive 110 miles from White Bear Lake, MN to Osseo, WI just for their pie!

Highly recommend! Only disappointment was the granddaughter didn’t like the chicken fingers, but grandpa said they were good.

I had the cream over a biscuit and it was the perfect lunch option, especially if having pie for dessert. My husband and daughter had the beef sandwich and I snuck a sample which was delicious.

The pies were scrumptious (Banana Cream, Chocolate Mouse, Peach and Cherry)
