No-frills outpost of a long-running Tex-Mex chain specializing in taco-truck fare.

I’d give 1 more star if the service wasn’t so bad, but our waitress was very rude. She had a terrible attitude and got visibly annoyed when we asked her questions about the menu or asked for more time to make our food choices. She brought our plates to the table and never came back for refills or our check. We saw her talking and laughing with other wait staff, all while completely ignoring our table. We had to get up and ask a random waiter for our check after waiting for 20 minutes.
Food was good and karaoke looked fun but the bad service ruined the experience (which was our first time there by the way). The bartender didn’t how to make a Ranch Water and their drinks are super overpriced. We will definitely not be back.

I had a horrible experience at Taquerias Amanda’s in Spring, TX. The hookah was trash. We were told by the hookah staff that the hookah is “only good for 30 minutes,” which already makes no sense — especially when it took about 15 minutes just for the charcoal to fully light. By the time it was actually smoking properly, half of that “30 minutes” was already gone. The flavor didn’t last, the quality was poor, and it felt rushed and low effort.
The service was even worse. When I politely complained about the hookah being bad, the bartender Ashley’s ( i have a feeling thats not her name )visibly got upset. She mentioned something about her man being the owner (which I didn’t know and honestly shouldn’t matter). After I asked for her name for the purpose of leaving a review, she called security on us. Imagine calling security because a customer says the hookah is bad and asks for your name.
We weren’t causing a scene, being disrespectful, or refusing to pay. Yet security was asked to tell us to leave — which we did, no problem. But the fact that a bartender at a restaurant feels the need to call security over a customer complaint says a lot about how they handle feedback.
For the prices they charge, the experience should be way better. Very unprofessional and definitely not somewhere I’d return to. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO TO LUNA INSTEAD 3 minutes away.

I really like this location. You get the small family restaurant feel with great service. You never know who your server is but service was great today. We had Tacos, menudo, pasole and queso. Kids enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, quick service, the place was packed for lunch. There’s lots of Mexican restaurants in this area, I’ll move this one up towards a top choice.

The place overcharged us $30 dollars on tip. The server didn’t ask if it was ok and when we ask them they said we couldn’t remove it unless if the server was bad and tbh he was alr. The food was ok nothing good and the drink $10? That’s crazy the other servers love to stare you down and I think it’s so uncomfortable and annoying. They said it was because we were a party of 6. That was 3 adults and 3 kids , even if it was a bigger party they shouldn’t charge you without telling you. %18 of the tip for not even an hour that we were there and food that wasn’t good .
The place isn’t even a good restaurant not even close to 3 stars , I’ve been to better restaurants and not even in the most expensives places I’ve been charge a mandatory tip. $200 dollars wasted on a Horrible place. Never coming back and to add that the “Mexican food” doesn’t even have actual taste.

Taqueria #36… I’ve been to this location many times & never left a review. Sadly last night, 10/10/25 was not the best. Compared to Arandas #23 that I was at juat a few days ago #36 was subpar… While the food was tasty, it just seemed lack luster and stingy with the portion. While Karaoke is fun, shouldn’t that be done in the back bar? It was so loud! It was difficult to enjoy my meal with all the loudness. I will say this though, the KJ can sing! I enjoyed his voice. It was just too loud for regular dining in my opinion. Hopefully next time I go in it will be better! I won’t give up on them!!

I don’t live in Houston but do live about 45 min away. So great Mexican food is pretty rare and went into Houston to find. This place I only know because of a neighbor raving about it. Everyone’s taste is different, so… The food was not the best and served semi cold. I was sat way on the back exit from where I entered. I saw 3 servers before my order was taken, then waited 27 min for the food. Corn tortillas were semi warm, but edges were hard and had to “peel” off the edges. Barb-qua was not only greasy but cold, yuck. No one refilled my coffee, 1 person came to ask how I was doing, but no one brought me my water I asked for. Place was not full, at all, but yet I was put where no one remembered I was there. I had to get up and stand in line at the pickup order station to pay when every other table had Staff service. No one asked me how was everything, most likely because they did not care. No tip, for this reason. Horrible service, Horrible food, Horrible management, if they have anyone in charge. Skip this place if you want great service, food and atmosphere and real silverware, not plastic. By the way breakfast for one was $24!!!!!! That is way too much for eggs, coffee, substitute of Bar b qua instead of meat, OJ. For a simple breakfast, this simply breaks the bank for 2 people or more. Still searching for that Mexican restaurant with great service and food at a reasonable price

I recently visited Arandas, a Mexican restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was subpar. The service was slow, and it was unclear who our server was, which made it difficult to get attention when needed.
I ordered a plate of tacos, but the portion size was smaller than expected. The dish didn’t quite live up to my expectations, but the salsas were a redeeming factor – they were delicious!
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Arandas. While the salsas showed promise, the slow service and small portion sizes left a lot to be desired.

We’ve lived next to Taqueria Arandas for over 10 years, and for some reason, never tried it until recently. I wish I would have tried it sooner! It’s not Tex-Mex, it’s more traditional. The tacos aren’t like the hard shell Taco Bell tacos (I still love Taco Bell), they’re “street tacos”. Their green salsa is amazing. I still want to try their seafood branch and bakery.
