Located right on the waterfront in Jersey City, it offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline that instantly elevate the entire experience. Everything about this place is great! Food is really delicious, super affordable for lunch. Recommend the mortadella and chicken sandwiches. The view of manhattan you cannot beat. Staff is super attentive and they have my favorite wine, sancerre. Their espresso martinis are very good as well!

(Only veg food review) This place not only offers fantastic views and vibes but the food is absolutely delicious. We had the Emmy James Lavender and Limoncello spritz in cocktails followed by the focaccia, mushroom ravioli and garlic mashed potato on the side.
Everything tasted exceptional. If you’re looking for one place to celebrate an occasion, look no further!
Also, the live music added to the ambiance and we enjoyed it a lot! We were here on a Thursday night, it was quite packed so definitely recommend getting a reservation.

Probably the best restaurant in Jersey City. Ambience was really nice – with great views of NYC (but still good even if you aren’t seated on the deck). Food and cocktails were also perfect. Service was amazing. Definitely a great date night or special occasion place. More expensive, but justified for quality. Still better prices than something comparable in NYC.

Don’t even know where to start! The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the restaurant itself is a sight. The food was incredible. I ordered the focaccia, creste di gallo, and cheesecake and loved it all. The presentation was also beautiful for the food. The service was also phenomenal. Katrina was my waitress and checked in regularly to ensure I was receiving what I ordered and I was enjoying it. Katrina was the best waitress and Battello has the best service I’ve ever experienced. Made my trip to Jersey City! Cannot recommend enough.

I’m embarrassed to admit that after living in Jersey City for 8 years, I’ve only recently tried Battello for the first time and my oh my have I been missing out.
Not only is the atmosphere stunning with views of Manhattan right on the water, but the food is incredible. I came here as a walk in on my birthday, and although the staff wasn’t aware it was a special occasion (until dessert), they treated us phenomenally which is truly a testament to their standards for service.
Everything we ordered was amazing, I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu.

My boyfriend and I came here Friday night to celebrate Valentine’s Day early. We had a 9:15pm reservation and the place was packed as expected on a holiday weekend. We parked at Newport South Garage, which was very convenient (a 3-minute walk tops).
We were seated in the main dining room near the entrance which was beautifully decorated and cozy live music played throughout our dinner.
The food was amazing. I had the sea bass and my boyfriend had the halibut — both great. The marsala glazed mushrooms were honestly the best mushrooms I’ve ever had.
Our server, Bobby, was amazing. It was a very busy night and you could tell there was a lot to juggle, but he remained kind, genuine, and attentive throughout the evening. The kind of customer service that goes a long way.
We’ll definitely be back!

The entire experience was delightful. Great ambiance with spectacular view of NYC. Amazing and fast serivce and food was delicious. Loved the pimpkin cheesecake. They even gave us complimentary cookies. Highly recommend for special occasions.

We dined at Battello tonight. It was a mild early fall night and the patio and doors were open. The views of Manhattan are excellent and the sun dipped below the light clouds right at sunset and put a warm red glow on the city.
We initially sat inside the doors but a large party came in. They weren’t especially loud but it got busy and took some relaxation out of our moment. We asked the manager if we could move outside to the patio and they accommodated us with no questions asked. It made our night.
They have an impressive cocktail list and local and national beers. I opted for a 902 Brewing Path Pale Ale. Quite good. My wife ordered the Emmy James cocktail and was pleased.
For an appetizer we got the Roasted Spanish Octopus. IMO the sauce was perfect but the Octopus was overdone and a bit tough.
For dinner, we both ordered the Fennel & Ginger Crusted Pork Chop. I opted for French fries rather than the mashed potatoes but both starches were perfect. The chops we tender and cooked perfectly. They pre-slice and pour the sauce on top which is great. The red cabbage and red pepper relish complimented the pork well. No regrets here, the chops were excellent.
For dessert we shared the Chocolate Budino with a cappuccino.
Overall it was an excellent night with great service, excellent food and a beautiful view. We’ll be back.

Lovely food, however the yellow sauce for the steak frites was gross, it tasted like straight nachos cheese from Walmart. Honestly only au poivre sauce should be served with steak. The tiramisu was so delicious.
