I’ve been a regular at Hakka Chow for the past three years, and it continues to be one of my favorite places to eat in Winston-Salem. The food, atmosphere, and service are consistently excellent every single time.
The dishes are not only very tasty but also feel light and comfortable on the stomach, which I really appreciate. My absolute favorite is the Hakka Chow Fried Rice – I order it almost every visit and it never disappoints. Their noodles are delicious, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. And the crab wontons are so yummy – crispy on the outside and just amazing.
Overall, I just love this place. It’s reliable, flavorful, and always a great dining experience. Highly recommend!

I loved the fried tofu in the vermicelli noodle bowl. Everything else was just okay, not very memorable. Our server was nice and made sure to notate my shellfish and peanut allergies. While I understand and appreciate the ease of the portable payment devices, I did feel a little pressured to give more of a tip with the server standing there watching.

First visit at HakkaChow, it did not disappoint! The Hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable of the food at HakkaChow! Waitress gave us some recommendations! Our appetizer was amazing Korean Barbecue Sparerib was so delicious and fell weight off the bone! Sushi was fresh and so good! We will be back again!

One of the best bar experiences I have had! Absolutely wonderful service I believe our bartender was Joy? And the owner was personally going around making sure everyone had what they needed and that the food was good. My new favorite restaurant!

HakkaChow was easily the lowest point of our visit to Winston Salem. We arrived with empty stomachs and left having had some of the poorest quality food that we’ve had.
We got the Kimchi cheese fries, which were a decent appetiser, albeit quite one-dimensional. For main course, we got the Panko crusted peanut butter chicken—this was quite abysmal—one bite and we knew the chicken was either stale or not cooked properly, and the Chicken Lo Mein noodles, which had the chicken so chewy/gummy that we couldn’t eat it after a few bites.
The kicker was the limeade drink which we ordered. They served it with alcohol despite having asked for the without alcohol option. They looked apologetic but it was already too late.
The service was prompt, and that was the only saving grace. In a nutshell, this just seemed to a hastily put version of whitewashed Asian food restaurant.
Parking is available outside. I won’t recommend visiting here if you’re looking for good Asian cuisine.

Great little gem of a restaurant. Everything we (my wife and I) ordered was delicious. Their twist on the classics (think crab rangoon) is refreshing. Would absolutely go back and explore more menu items.

Recently had dinner here with my significant other last weekend and we really enjoyed our experience. We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had time to check it out. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server was training and a bit nervous but overall did a great job. My boyfriend had the orange chicken and I had the spicy garlic shrimp. I rarely like to eat out anymore because of the quality of the food. The garlic shrimp has been one of the best meals I’ve had to eat a restaurant recently but if you do like spicy food you may want to request for extra spice due to the meal being adjusted to fit the average persons tolerance. Both of our entrees were very flavorful and had fresh ingredients. The drinks were also good. I highly recommend the Tokyo ice tea.

If you’re looking to enjoy a cozy ambience with delicious food, Hakka Chao is the place to be. The staff was super nice. The food was good and the place gives off very upscale vibes. I ordered the Singapore noodles which tasted good though I expected them to be spicier and more flavorful. The mango strawberry limeade was refreshing and my friends really liked their chicken meals. The garden sushi roll plate was yummy too. The restaurant is conveniently located and not too crowded even if you don’t have an online reservation. We waited only about 15 minutes before our table was ready. Although there are limited vegetarian options, it is definitely worth a try!

Sushi was ok and kung pao chicken was above average. Lychee drink was way too sweet.
Server didnt even bring chopsticks for sushi until asked. Was not even busy on a Saturday afternoon.
