The food was great! I ordered the fried catfish combo and added an order of shrimp to go along with it. DELICIOUS!!! Ace made the visit a pleasure!!
My friends and I came here for Valentine’s Day expecting a nice dinner, and it turned into a 3-hour disaster from start to finish.
When we first arrived it wasn’t as busy yet. We asked the hostess for a booth and she told us there were no booths available and she didn’t know how long the wait would be. Fine — we decided to wait anyway… and magically a booth opened up within about 10–15 minutes.
After sitting down, we were completely ignored. We were not greeted by our server for about 30 minutes. Then it somehow got worse — we didn’t receive our drinks OR our appetizer for about an hour and a half. Then the server told us that they are so busy and backed up that it makes no sense for her to put our order in. However, other sections and other servers were putting orders in.
While we sat there starving, we watched multiple tables in our section:
• finish their meals
• leave
• new people get seated
• those same people get their food
…and somehow we still had nothing.
So we asked for the manager because our server was avoiding us, The manager came over and informed us our server forgot to put our order into the kitchen. We sat down at 7:09 PM and did not receive our food until 9:30 PM.
After waiting over two hours, the food STILL came out wrong:
• I ordered crab with my combo— no crab
• My friend ordered shrimp to be added with her combo — no shrimp
• Another friend got crawfish the size of a quarters
We asked for lime and butter and never got it the whole time we were there.
We spoke to the manager about our frustration and the manager offered only a 20% employee discount. At that point it wasn’t even about money — the service was unbelievably terrible and the entire night was ruined.
Slow service is one thing. Completely forgetting an order for over two hours, giving wrong food, and barely acknowledging it is unacceptable.
Absolutely would not recommend, especially for a special occasion.
My friends and I were so excited it was crawfish season and had been waiting and planning to go to juicy crab, and we were highly disappointed.
Let me make this clear. I loved my cruise. The food was great. That being said, once I ate here AFTER my trip, and by accident, all of the food I ate on that cruise was completely forgettable, and I’m dead serious. I’m STILL thinking about this place even after I just ate there, writing this review, and ALL of the great food I just had on that boat does not give me this impression combined! What an experience!
Our server, Sherika, was training a new server, and both were welcoming and provided exceptional service! They made me and my wife feel as if they’d known us for years. They even gave us recommendations as to how to change up our order so that we could get what we were asking for but for a less expensive cost! And we’re talking lobster tails, clams, oysters… we are originally from New York City so we dont play around with seafood… so that alone was huge points for us.
Then, the food. Oh my God the food… we started with raw oysters and “juicy wings.” These wings were wings that were put into a boil bag just as if it was seafood. It was a garlic butter lemon type seasoning bag and you can make it mild, medium, hot, or extra hot. Let me warn you, I grew up eating super hot and the “hot” food does have a kick that would probably put non heat eaters on fire if they aren’t ready for it. That being said, the wings alone made me forget all that now suddenly crap food I ate on that boat. These are hands down the best wings I have EVER eaten, and I do not say that lightly. I ordered more for later tonight, on top of my leftovers, and that’s just an appetizer! The oysters were huge and fresh, and I was in love with them throughout. My wife was also killing the food and shared my opinion on all of this by the way!
Then the main dish! 2 boil bags. I got shrimp, eggs, potatoes, sausage, shrimp, class, snow crab, and a lobster tail, all hot. My wife got the same but mild. The clams and tail are added with an extra cost, but it is totally worth it if you do. Don’t eat for a week before you come here, otherwise you’ll regret being full and make you reconsider your life choices. The drinks are plentiful and full of flavor. You’ll be hard pressed make a mistake with this menu lineup! The food is so flavorful, presented perfectly, and juicy! It’s just that damn good. Now, my wife and I are planning to come back to Houston just for this place, because otherwise, we have no other reason to be here, but now we do!
Overall, INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE, AND JUST INCREDIBLE! when we get back to Albuquerque, I’m telling all my military friends on the base there about this because we don’t get seafood like this and a lot of us freque Houston for various reasons. This place should be a mandatory visit for anyone going through Houston for any reason. They even have burgers, catfish, and other items for those with allergies and such. Bravo, Juicy crab, BRAVO!!!
