A good place to enjoy drinks with a group in the summer. The food seemed underseasoned; the guacamole needed more lemon and salt. The staff was very friendly and quick to serve us.

The “mini” burrito is big enough for at least two meals. Don’t say yes to chips and salsa unless you’re willing to pay for them (not a ding – it’s on the menu. We just said yes without looking at the menu). The mango margarita was delicious!! The atmosphere is loud, but fun. The service was great.

Smile disappeared on my face after I walked into Downtown Trini’s in Sparta at about 11:20am 23 January 2026. I was inside restaurant near hostess desk when I was quickly ushered out the door. “We’re closed” I said oh you aren’t open today? NO we don’t open until 11:30 you’re gonna have leave. I said I can’t wait in lobby? NO. I walked to my car. I decided to call the restaurant when I was about couple miles away. Person who answered said there was no reason why I shouldn’t have been allowed to stay inside. The door is open now. Manager shoveled sidewalk and left the front door open. No clue why. I told her you just lost a loyal customer. -4 degrees outside.
Open restaurant door and got the bum’s rush out. Applebee’s welcomed me.

I ordered the downtown combo. I’ll definitely have come here again as there was other menu options that looked delicious. Large delicious portions for the money

Good portion sizes and the food is hearty. Service was friendly and efficient. Pub-like atmosphere with some high tops and a bar, as well as regular tables and seating areas.

Trini’s is a perfect example of a “hidden gem” within a small town. This is an excellent family-run restaurant with some of the best Mexican dishes I’ve had anywhere.
The atmosphere is festive – dress code is casual, although I have seen some dressed up from other more formal affairs. There are mounted televisions, usually tuned to sports channels, although one monitor is set on Michigan Keno in the bar area.
The menu items will please both traditional and vegetarian palettes. The portions are well-sized, big enough to share for those who have smaller-sized appetites.
The soups are especially delicious – always made fresh. Their chips and salsa are made fresh as well.
There are week-day specials, well worth checking before you go. I recommend half-price Margarita Wednesdays – a real winner. There is also a great deal on Taco Thursdays (not Tuesdays…). Tuesdays is “all-you-can-eat” fish.

4 stars only to reflect the bland tasting salsa. Everything else was delicious! Great server Maddy was energetic, attentive, and a bright light. The bar called Margarito Joe’s was hopping with business. There was a wait to get seated, but it was definitely worth the wait.
