Maurice’s Southern Gold® mustard-based barbecue sauce, a regional favorite, adds a tangy kick to our smoked meats perfected over generations. Located in West Columbia, our cozy atmosphere invites you to savor the authentic flavors of South Carolina BBQ that have spanned the test of time through four generations serving Maurice’s Piggie Park Que since the 1950s. A recent devastating fire caused a complete loss to the pits, kitchens, & offices at our headquarters facility, located across the parking lot here at Charleston Hwy, but the restaurant and new temp smokehouse is OPEN. The food was smokey and delicious. The brisket was a little dry for my liking but still had good flavor. I definitely enjoyed the hot honey smoked wings and ribs. Good food, great service, and reasonable pricing for what you get.

Old school classic South Carolina BBQ. Home of the original Carolina gold BBQ sauce. All meats are smoked on premises. Service can be a little slow, but everything is fresh, so it’s worth the wait. The best thing on the menu is the BBQ hash, which you can and should get as a side. You can also buy it frozen to take home for later. Coke products. Drive through & dine in.

OVERPRICED, OVERHYPED, OVERCOOKED.
Maurice’s used to be good many years ago but now any time I visit it’s HORRIBLE service with unreasonable prices for subpar food.
I mean look at the size of this sandwich for the Little Joe… And it cost almost $10 for just the sandwich and the buns touch around the whole sandwich & the tiny bit of bbq in the middle is dry and taste like it was cooked days ago. I wont be back to any of the locations, way too many other bbq spots around that actually appreciate their patrons.

Food was so good! So much food I couldn’t even finish it. Food came out in timely manner. The service was nice . Will return the next time I am in SC.

Living in Texas, bbq restaurants are every where and there are some really good places to eat. I travel allot for work so I like to try bbq in other states to compare back home. I found Maurice’s Piggie Park and let me say, I was blown away by how great this bbq tasted. The sliced brisket was perfectly smoked and extremely juice. The meat was so tender it just melts in your mouth. The brisket baked beans is another huge hit with a little bit of smoked flavor and shaving of brisket added. The green beans were wonderful. I was very surprised to see 2 hush puppies included on my plate, I have never seen hush puppies included anywhere else. This place is a must if you are in Columbia, SC.

Delivery to sauce plant was difficult to find hard to find a place to turn around and back in. Very nice people and fast. Can park at rear of BBQ place to wait untill plant opens at 7am

Any time my husband and I are out this way, we make sure to stop here.
The service is fantastic, and the employees know their stuff about the menu and are happy to assist and answer questions.
My husband got the brisket, ribs with baked beans and coleslaw.
The hushpuppies, were crisp and tasty.
I got pulled pork, BBQ chicken with mac n cheese, beef hash and potato salad.
I was definitely happy with my meal, I ran into one issue, which was the BBQ chicken was a bit over cooked, and they fixed it immediately by allowing me to choose a different meat from the menu, not for a single moment did they make me feel bad asking for something else.
Every side dish was absolutely phenomenal, my husband and I were picking off eachothers plates the entire meal.
The banana pudding was DELICIOUS! Just the right amount of banana, wafer cake & whipped topping.
We will continue returning to eat here, thanks for the amazing service and delicious food.

Visited on a Friday night around 8pm. Very surprised that Brisket and ribs were a little dry and not the best okra and onion rings. We did get it to go but ate it fresh in our car in the parking lot. Idk probably isolated.
