Founded in 2015, Black Label Tavern is a concept driven by a commitment to fresh and delicious food, hospitality and caring service, and a setting for the community. The inaugural location in Livonia, Michigan features seating for up to 138 guests, a 25 person bar, outdoor patio dining with fire pit tables and lounge area. Also includes a semi-private event space for up to 35 attendees. The Milford, Michigan location features seating for 234 guest , 25 person bar, outdoor seating with fire pits and lounge area. Also a semi-private event space for up to 60 attendees. Both Locations feature creative draft beer, wine, cocktails and spritzers options.

We visited Black Label Tavern on a Friday evening, and it wasn’t too crowded when we arrived. Unfortunately, the service got off to a slow start. We waited about 10 minutes without being greeted or seated, even though several servers noticed us. Eventually, someone seated us, but it was a disappointing first impression.
We ordered the rosemary truffle fries, onion rings, and a wood-fired hand-tossed pizza, customized with our choice of toppings. It’s worth noting that they don’t modify any of their alcoholic drinks to make virgin (non-alcoholic) versions. The food took a while to arrive, but everything came out together. The onion rings were crispy and enjoyable, and the pizza was good. The rosemary truffle fries, however, were just okay and lacked the flavor we expected.
As the evening went on, the restaurant slowly filled up, with the bar area becoming completely packed. Overall, it’s a nice, cool spot with decent food, but the service could definitely use improvement. The experience was okay, but it left us wanting a bit more.

Cool place, my husband comes here for work meetings a lot and told me how good it is. One time he brought me home a sandwich but it wasn’t the same as being there. We came for a date lunch and got seated right away. We ordered the firecracker shrimp which was different than I thought, looked like tempura shrimp but tasted so different. So light and crunchy, and the volcano sauce is amazing! I ordered the brisket tacos with fries and they were amazing! They are off menu and they are worth the ask. My husband got the Cobb salad and said it was really good. Service was good and food was great, I’ll definitely be back!

We were here on a very busy Friday night, so we had a few service issues, but we enjoyed our food. The restaurant is roomy and has a fun vibe. Our favorite foods were the Perch dinner special, Volcano grilled shrimp appetizer, Forest Chicken and Brisket mac and cheese. (Pictures below) They also have Keno.

Kristine was absolutely phenomenal. Even while the restaurant was busy, she delivered true all star service. She had the perfect balance of being attentive without hovering, checking in at just the right moments and making sure everything flowed seamlessly.
You could tell she genuinely cared about the guest experience. The drinks were on point, her recommendations were great, and her energy made the whole evening even better.
And the food was so delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and came out beautifully. Between the amazing food and Kristine’s top tier service, it was an all around fantastic experience.

Went to Sunday brunch today at black label! It was amazing. So may different varieties of food, all was very hot and fresh. They have a personal chef making crepes and omelettes. He was so professional and kept his area so clean. I was so impressed. I will be coming back very soon. High recommend.

This place is a must try! Originally from out of town but came here as we were passing through for a concert at Little Cesar’s Arena. Katie was our server and she was wonderful! She made recommendations, was personable and very kind! The food was top tier in flavor! We got the Mac and cheese Gouda bites and firecracker shrimp. Delicious! We also both got burgers/fries.. one of the best I’ve had! If you’re in the area I recommend you don’t miss checking this place out. Ask for Katie, she made the experience what it was!
