I enjoyed the Ebi Donburi set meal, which was delicious and satisfying, while my wife enjoyed the Special Curry Pork Rice set which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The star of the show, though, was the Okonomiyaki being deliciously crisp on the outside and tender inside, and packed with the okonomi sauce umami goodness.
We rounded off our meal with a delightful black sesame pudding that was smooth, subtly sweet, and the perfect finish. My wife got another to go for my parents as we visited them in the evening.
Beyond the amazing food, the service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was cozy and relaxed, we never felt crowded despite being right in the heart of Orchard.
We’ll definitely be back!
Reservation is highly recommended if not be prepared to spend a considerable time in the queue. Really shows how popular the restaurant is with the customers.
The food is splendid with really reasonable prices for the quality of the ingredients used. The staff are very hospitable and provided good recommendations.
Looking forward to visit the restaurant again!
Absolutely no complaints about service – it was definitely above average (RBF index was zero compared to servers in some cafes). If I had to nitpick, it was that the servers should have placed the meals that would allow diners to eat comfortably (too much to ask for in local context).
Ambience? Don’t expect much. Normal tables and chairs layout, slightly tight at one side of the restaurant. The restaurant provides 8 seats for diners waiting for tables so that’s a plus. Depending on your fellow diners and the number of customers, the noise level could be tolerable but conversations won’t be intimate (I can hear conversations 3 tables away).
Next, food. I really wanted to give this restaurant a 5-star rating. But I often find the meals to be lacking – the chicken in the cod set, the portion of beef, the rice isn’t as fluffy as I would like. In terms of the quality/quantity of food compared to what I paid for it, I didn’t quite feel I got full value for money.
I will definitely return to this restaurant as there are other meals/dishes I will like to try. In the crowded F&B landscape in Centrepoint, Misato stands out as an excellent and convenient choice.
Suitable for: small groups, families, friends.
Not recommended for: couples, solo diners looking for peace.
We ordered the okonomiyaki, katsudon, and a seafood nabe soup (I forgot the exact name!). The okonomiyaki was perfectly crisp on the underside, with a rich glaze of sauce and eggs on top.. absolutely delectable. It was so good that we even requested another one to go (a special favour they don’t usually offer).
The seafood nabe soup was light yet deeply flavourful, and my mom couldn’t stop raving about it the entire time.
Even their plates and presentation were beautiful, I couldn’t resist taking photos of every dish. Their service is also friendly 🙂
All in all, we’ll definitely be back again. I really hope this gem stays open for a long time ✨
The okonomiyaki was delicious and well seasoned. The sauces didn’t overpower the flavour of the dish and textures were just perfect. The kamameshi was flavoured very well too. My only gripe is that the rice was a lil soggy.
The closing dish of red bean and toasted mochi.. never thought I’d see this outside of Japan. The dessert wasnt too sweet, and the red beans left whole in the soup provided another textural element too.
Will definitely return!! Thank you for the great service too!
I always knew of Misato as a place that prides itself on quality and it definitely lived up to it’s name. The prawns with fresh, sweet and had a nice texture. Coated in crunchy Panko breading, it was delicious. Adding the Japanese curry gave it that much more flavor while the hotstone bowl kept the contents piping hot.
Sometimes it gets a little too hot though, so do make sure you cool every spoonful. The cheese and egg does make the rice even better. If you leave a layer of rice at the bottom it also crisps up and gives just abit of extra crunch to the curry. Very filling and satisfying dish.
