a name with Salt and Straw I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It came highly recommended though and as ice cream connoisseurs we couldn’t refuse. And I am an VERY glad we didn’t. The unique name fits it perfectly. Their ice cream flavors have you question if what you are really ordering is ice cream or a dish. The creativity of flavors comes across as weird to begin but as you taste them they are radical.
Even though there was a line we were able to try a variety of flavors. The limited edition flavor that we went with was the apple & cheddar cinnamon roll and we added salted caramel to that. We also ordered pear & blue cheese with the olive oil flavor. That was the winning combination for sure. Like I said, you question if you are eating dessert or a dish but it is without a doubt some of the best ice cream I have had. It was creamy, flavorful, and generous portions. We also tried the balsamic flavor and honey lavender. Both solid as well.
I want Salt and Straw to be franchised everywhere!! (Especially, Atlanta!!)
Thankful that this unpredictable experience was our last experience before flying back. It was phenomenal and I recommend it to anyone!!

I forgot just how great Salt & Straw is. Now that I remember, this is my absolute favorite ice cream in the entire west coast. What makes this place great is the combination of wildly creative flavors, top quality ingredients, super generous portions, and in this particular case awesome friendly staff. I got lucky with the serving lady and got a mound of stupendous ice cream (special banana foster, cookie dough) on a waffle cone. It was simply the best ice cream I had in a while. 100% recommend!

Great unique olive oil flavour. Mismatch of scoop to empty cone size though. For me, this detracted from eating the last 1/3. The value of this place is on par with other ice creameries. Selection of flavours is decent! I tried a few and honestly, this was the only one that stood out to me.

I was there earlier around 5 Place is nice and smells amazing BUT the ice cream is not even woth it at all. The flavors aren’t even good Also i don’t like to leave bad word on employees but the lady helping me was being very unprofessional constantly laughing and getting distracted by the male next to her I had to repeat myself a couple times a nice girl but can tell she doesn’t take her job serious had a hat on. Definitely won’t be coming back here.

Great chain of ice cream stores. I have been here at least 10 times in the past year and they always hit with their seasonal flavors. The line might be a bit long, but it’s worth the wait. I personally always do two scoops as it is worth every single dollar.

It’s decent they have a very interesting menu. Line was out the door and took ~15 min. The ice cream itself was pretty good I just didn’t particularly like the one I got (cookie dough – there was too much chocolate sauce and not enough cookie dough).

One of the best Ice Cream joints in Palo Alto. The choice of flavors and taste of the ice cream was out of this world. They freshly baked the cones at the store.
Please don’t miss visiting when you are here.

Salt & Straw is an extremely unique ice cream shop. They have so many wacky flavors to choose from on any given day.
They also are super friendly, and more than happy to let you sample whatever you’d like. They even use fancy metal sample spoons.
It’s not just their wacky flavor options that makes it great, but also the quality of the ice cream is top notch. Oh, and you can skip the line (which there probably will be one) if you just want to swing by and grab a pint.

A lovely and lively joint for super tasty ice creams. People wait in Q to taste and buy the ice cream. They have advertised that we can taste all the ice cream before we buy what we want. The flavour which I loved was “Strawberry honey balsamic with white pepper”. Highly recommended.

Another fabulous experience at Salt & Straw today. They’re always moving and grooving with both classic and creative new ways of tantalizing my tastebuds. Today’s adventure was an Apple cinnamon roll. Super bonus was not having the typical 15-20 minute line by stopping by at lunch time .
