The only thing keeping this review from one star is the food and the busboy, Fadil.
I’ve heard a lot of hype about First Watch. I’m from Chicago and somehow never went there, so I was excited to try this location at Dania Pointe for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations.
It was the coldest day Miami has seen in years, so everyone was packed inside. The restaurant was extremely loud, crowded, and chaotic. The atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy the meal at all.
Our server, Melanie, was not outright rude, but she clearly seemed unhappy to be there. Whether it was a bad day or burnout, it showed in her expressions and interactions. Requests took a long time, and we consistently felt overlooked while other tables were being helped quickly. That kind of imbalance is noticeable and frustrating as a guest.
What completely changed the tone of the service was the busboy, Fadil. He gave us more attention and care than anyone else in the restaurant. He was kind, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be working. He went above and beyond despite not even being in a customer facing role. He absolutely deserves recognition and, honestly, a promotion to server. He single handedly improved our experience.
The food was exactly what we hoped for. I ordered the breakfast tacos and they were outstanding. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly the reason this place is popular. I attached photos because the food deserves credit.
This is not a place I would write off completely. The food is worth trying. However, the service and overall atmosphere need improvement. I hope management takes this review as constructive feedback, because with better service, this location could easily match the hype.

I love coming to first watch and Lelis was so sweet and pleasant she made our experience 10x better. We enjoyed our food especially the lemon blueberry corn bread it is a must try! We will be back again soon.

The food is overpriced for such small portions. I ordered the French toast, they gave me 1 slice of bread/ toast that was really too small with a small serving of mixed fruit compote. I ordered separately scrambled eggs and smoked ham. I was not impressed. My sister ordered a make your own omelet. The onions were sliced too thick not diced, the ham was not cooked to her liking and the omelet wasn’t seasoned. She did enjoy the cheesey grits. It was our first time, we won’t be returning.

After a 1 AM flight out, we found this restaurant listed in our hotel directory. What a perfect kickoff to our vacation! Not only was the food delicious, the service was impeccable. All throughout the staff were on top of the game from hostess to kitchen, but it was really our server Henry who won the day. He was friendly, cheerful, and attentive. If you’re staying near Dania Beach make sure this is your first stop.
