Incredible experience, as always! Love some of the newer menu options. We enjoyed gracious and attentive hospitality and service with a large party on a Saturday night during the holidays.

My honest opinion is that this was an unexpected 12/10! Exceptional performance from the greeting, to seating, to service, to close out. And the food…. Let’s just say that they are known for the steak of course but also for their shrimp scampi and at first bite you will understand why. Not to mention their serving sizes are nothing to complain about. I was very impressed! They are a Reservation Only establishment and when I first pulled up I thought to myself, ‘no way was a reservation was needed for this place’, and let’s just say judging a restaurant from the parking lot hits differently when you swing open the door to be greeted by an old school, New York style, intimate dining experience. I have drove by this place countless times and had no idea it was even there but I’d suggest to not be confused by their choice not to be flashy. It’s a gem. The dining room packed out quickly and the sounds of chatter and knives and forks clinking against plates almost immediately filled the space. This is one of the greatest surprises that I have ever taken a chance on here in Charlotte and after this evening I must say that their doors being open nearly 70 years is no surprise at all.

Went for a night out near Downton Charlotte at this restaurant, as recommend by a coworker. I got a 16 oz Sirloin and my wife got a 14 oz Ribeye steak. I will admit the steaks were fresh quality cuts of meat and were definitely cooked well just as we ordered, no complaints there. I will say the steaks had absolutely no seasoning at all. We had to over salt them just to get some resemblance of flavor. Our waitress was in and out but most of the time nowhere to be found. The seating we had at a very small table was a little rough but we managed through it. We were given crackers and cheese dip at first while waiting for our meal but then bread eventually arrived and was surprisingly very good. Our sides of onion rings, and brussel sprouts were delicious, even though I ordered a loaded baked potato I got one served plain instead. Really not to bash, I wanted to like this place but really had to have a lot of patience as we moved through each part our dining experience. The atmosphere felt nice, but was honestly entirely too loud with the amount of people in such a small space. My wife and I couldn’t hold a conversation at all, frequently yelling out and guessing what each other was saying, including conversations with our waitress. I might give this another try in the future, but for the price they are asking I’ve had much better elsewhere.

We made a reservation to celebrate my wife’s birthday and dined with family. We were seated promptly, but we did wait a bit longer than expected for our drinks. The soups were good, and the shrimp cocktail was excellent.

I ordered the T-bone, which was good. Unfortunately, my wife the birthday girl
ordered a 10 oz filet cooked medium, and it came out completely rare. While they did not charge us for the steak, it was disappointing given the special occasion. I also had to remind the waiter about bringing out a birthday cake.

Overall, the food had its highlights, but the service and attention to detail fell short for a birthday celebration.

I get the allure of going to a vintage steakhouse, visited by many celebrities and being a part of the ambience, but that doesn’t justify extreme prices for good steak. The building itself needs a huge makeover. It has the feel like there were building additions to it over the decades that makes it awkward to move around in. The place needs a deep clean. It’s very loud and tight quarters make it louder. The food was good, but not great. It did not just justify $60 a steak. The sweet potatoes were cooked great. The broccoli was overcooked. I enjoyed the experience here, but it’s time for an overhaul.

2nd time to Beef & Bottle tonight. The steaks were perfectly cooked. I loved my filet combo with grouper. The sauce was delicious. Glad we saved room for dessert. We really enjoyed the chocolate cake & peanut butter pie. The sides are fine, nothing special. Nice that they are included with the steak, though. Our server was professional and very attentive. I enjoy the atmosphere, but our seating was a bit tight tonight. I’d prefer to be in the main dining area if possible. All & all a great experience both times we’ve eaten here and we will definitely be back.

A well-known CLT establishment. One of the many steakhouses in CLT, but probably the least fancy, least expensive one around.
Food is always a solid B+ and the portions are good. Prime Rib King Cut is the way to go. You really can’t go wrong here. Drinks are good, food is good, service is good.

This place is great, it’s got that old school steakhouse feel to it, it’s been around awhile and for good reason, the food is fantastic. I suggest a reservation if you want table service, it gets busy!

We sat in the bar area at a high top, service food, and beer are all great. Our waitress, Serena, was the most informative waitress I’ve ever encountered, and she was great at what she did. Perfect date night meal!

Try the cheerwine cherry ale if available, if not the martini is another fantastic option, both were perfect! When choosing your sides, don’t pass up on the creamed spinach, it’s the best!

I have been here a couple of times before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere, however it seems the quality of the food and service have gone down. I went last night 1/10/26 with mt fiancé as it was his first time. I hyped this restaurant up to him so much and was extremely let down with our experience. Our waiter David was not very attentive, he seemed to be too busy to give us the attention we should have received due to having many tables I assume, we had our food for about 15 minutes or so before he even came over to check to see how everything was since someone else had ran the food to our table. It was extremely loud and the couple sitting behind us was watching a football game on their phones yelling and screaming as if they were at a sports bar. I requested if he could have the manager at least go and speak with them, never did it happen and it was very disruptive for others, we saw other tables looking at them too when they would yell and scream. The ribeyes we ordered medium cut more like a sirloin and honestly the food last night was more on a Texas Roadhouse level but a heck of a lot more expensive. We didn’t return the steaks because it would not have helped at all. I was very disappointed for this to have been my fiancé’s first experience at Charlotte’s oldest and most infamous steakhouse. I will say at least the shrimp cocktail was still good and didn’t disappoint, but it appears that $160 later that’s what we truly paid for. I would really like for this place to get back to what made them special, quality and service.
