It’s delicious and great value for money.
The fried codfish cakes (bacalhau) are especially tasty, the black pork skewers were excellent, and the ribs were also quite good.
The line gets long, so I recommend going right at opening time.

Zé dos Cornos was hands-down the worst restaurant experience of my entire three-week trip. The number of glowing reviews for this restaurant is very difficult to believe…maybe someone can look into that.
One star, and here’s why:
• The restaurant’s toilet is in the middle of the dining room, enclosed in a frosted glass box about one meter square. While you eat, you watch silhouettes use the bathroom. This is real GROSS—check the photo.
• The food was terrible. I ordered the octopus, supposedly their specialty. It was rubbery, flavorless, and exhausting to chew.
• Bill padding: we were charged ~€25 for couvert items we did not eat and had removed from our table. We believe the bill padding may have been done intentionally (we heard other people talking about this). You’ll want to carefully scrutinize your bill.
• The service was openly rude. Staff appeared annoyed, disengaged, and unhappy to deal with customers.
• No reservations allowed means long lines outside, yet locals attempted to bypass the queue while staff ignored it.
Bottom line: uncomfortable, overpriced, poorly run, and wildly overrated. Whatever reputation this place has online, it does not match reality. Avoid it.

A very busy restaurant where you’ll need to put your name on the waiting list and wait to be called. The barbecue ribs and sea bass were excellent, and the cheese and bread starter (charged extra) was also impressive. However, service can be hectic — they forgot bringing our drinks and added extra item to the bill in the end. Make sure to double-check your order and receipt.

No it’s not worth it . Place is busy yes but too noisy. They do charge you for the cheese olives bread and etc. Code fish is not tasty at all. Cheese was nicer.

We were more than happy with our lunch, delicious grilled fish, amazing house wine and great starter food (though before we even sat down, it was already served, so you don’t really have a choice but to pay – for us it was around 16€). Very welcoming small restaurant. Split a 6 top with 4 locals and everyone was helpful in picking food and wine.
Ordered spare ribs, pastel de bacalhau, beans and rice, and fries. Perfect portion for 2 people to split.
Everything was naturally flavored, a pinch of finishing salt and served.
Would go back!
