Located on Post Street right in the middle of Japantown, we are the place to go for dinner and entertainment. Whether you are coming from the Japan Center or just looking for a lively meal, the hibachi experience is hard to beat.
You can sip on a Benihana Punch or hit up our Weekday Happy Hour while the chefs cook up your meal tableside.
We are set up well for large groups with private dining options, and we offer full wheelchair accessibility. We also do takeout and delivery if you are just craving the food without the show.

This was my 1st time ever at Benihana or trying a hibachi restaurant. We came here to celebrate my friends birthday party, there were 11 of us and the tables max out at 10 people but luckily they let us squeeze in together. The experience was all around amazing, the servers were so friendly, watching your food get cooked right infront of you is really interesting but the food was amazing! We spent around 2 hours here because there was 11 of us so the cook had a big order. The cook was a lil awkward and not so enthusiastic at 1st, but just seemed like he was having a bad day, after some small talk everyone warmed up and the entire table was laughing. Definitely recommend this place, especially because its attached to the Japantown mall, lots to do after you eat!

Everyone should experience Benihana atmosphere… It is very joyful place, especially if you need to celebrate an event or just want to spend some quality time with the family and friends. Food and services are great.

Come here for the entertainment from the chefs. Absolute stars of the restaurant. Food highlight was the chicken fried rice and wagyu beef. Everything else was oversalted or just weird. On the pricey side of things for the quality of food, but you’re paying for the show. If you come with a group of 8 you get the whole table to yourself.

I visited Benihana on 2/11 with my team and had a very disappointing experience.
We came specifically during the advertised Power Lunch hours (Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), which is promoted as starting at $15.95. However, upon arrival, we were told that the special was no longer being honored because Valentine’s Day is approaching. This was confusing and frustrating, as the promotional leaflet was still displayed at the counter, and the Power Lunch menu was still available and orderable on the website.
When we asked why the promotion was still being advertised online, we were told that management had not updated the website. Despite this, we proceeded to order and were charged full price $57 per meal.
We requested to speak with a manager to address the discrepancy. Although we were told multiple times that the manager would come, no one ever did. We waited over 60 minutes without any manager coming to speak with us.
This experience reflects poor communication, misleading advertising, and a lack of basic customer respect. Had the promotion been clearly removed from all platforms, or had management addressed the issue directly, this situation could have been avoided. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
Unacceptable!

Our Chef was amazing and had all sorts of fun tricks up his sleeves lol. The food was dynamic especially the fried rice and the filet mignon! Great service as well!

Last night, my partner and I made a reservation at Behinaha, a place I have been many times and enjoyed. This time, we got sat right away but didn’t get a drink order put in for almost 20 minutes and then it took another half hour to actually get the drinks we ordered and the waitress had to come back and ask me again what I ordered to drink. So almost an hour of not having any drinks they started cooking our food. Felt very rushed. The chef almost forgot the protein I ordered and I had to remind him of the order. As soon as our food was finished cooking before we had a chance to finish eating we were handed the bill, which was almost $300 for two people. Not worth the cost for wait and the rush.

This was takeout order. I can’t believe I wasn’t provided any of the sauces that normally come with your steak and seafood. They didn’t even give me salad dressing for the salad. I guess you have to order and pay for sauces and salad dressing. I don’t know. I posted a picture of the portion of steak, shrimp, zucchini, onions, and mushrooms, the steak and shrimp portion was normal but the veggies not even close. I paid extra $11.50 for the fried rice with shrimp and the rice was very dry and had very little onion, and the egg was almost non existent and small portion. I never order takeout but thought Benihana is a reputable restaurant. Wow what a difference compared to dining in the Cupertino location. Just can’t get over what a waste of money for the meal that didn’t include what comes with it when you dine in. Salad isn’t good without the dressing and the sauce for the meat and seafoodIt was the filet mignon meal and I paid $78.51 that included the undeserved tip not to mention the attitude the guy had when the order was picked up.I would like a refund

The dinner was just so incredibly fun and an experience that can’t be easily reproduced. Our chef, Erin, was extremely adept and fast with the spatulas and knives. Much respect to his skill and training for being able to put on such a show.
Enjoyed the chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly juicy and seasoned well. The rest of the food was quite salty, and had a similar flavor profile (soy, salt, butter).
While getting seated doesn’t take too long, waiting for a chef may be a different story. After arriving on time to our 6p reservation, we were seated about 6:10p. After ordering, we probably received soup 15 minutes later, then salad another 15 minutes later. I don’t think the chef came until 7p. We finished our meal and left at around 8:15p This wasn’t a problem for us, but I would recommend diners to allocate a good amount of time in their plans for their meal.
Overall, I had a blast. It takes a long time and the food is so-so, but watching the performance of a skilled entertainer/chef is a treat and absolutely worth it.

We recently dined at Benihana, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection right before our eyes. The chefs were not only skilled but also entertaining, making the whole meal a memorable event. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed.
One tip: make a reservation ahead of time to avoid wait times, as this popular spot can get busy. It’s definitely worth planning ahead to enjoy the full experience without any delays. If you’re ordering a 5 or 6-course meal, be sure to ask about additional items, as the bill can add up quickly.
Overall, we had a fun and flavorful dining experience!

Atmosphere and foods were just as expected. However the performing was somewhat less entertaining than what I enjoyed in NY years ago.
The service lady was nice and made us comfortable.
I might try another time if I get a chance.
