I’ve been to Mellow Mushroom once before, but not this particular establishment. This place is very stylized and has a lot of neat architecture, beads, disco balls and 70s groovy styling. Our staff were exceptional. The problem is this place has extremely expensive food that’s just…average? I got the steak calzone. $17.50 for a relatively large meal, not including the soda. Four “entrees” were almost $80 before tip. For what is glorified pizza and subs, that’s seriously steep. It wouldn’t be a problem to me if this was super good food, but it just…isn’t? It’s a neat vibe, but it is very $$$ for otherwise, just okay food. You can get so much better pizza, subs and calzones at local joints, or even other restaurant chains.

Mellow Mushroom in Roanoke is a gem! I’ve tried many locations from Charlotte, NC to Lynchburg..this one definitely ranks among my favorites. Sure..they can be a bit slow during the evenings but hang tight..their service is usually spot on! Kaylie is cool, she speaks Japanese. I recently indulged in the Thai Dye pizza, and let me tell you, it’s a quirky delight! The manager, Emory, she’s cool. She mentioned she’s the only reason the Thai Dye pizza is still on the menu. Apparently they wanted to take it off at one point. Glad they kept it so I could try it.And don’t even get me started on the Cloud 9 wings.. man they’re pure magic! I recently brought some kiddos along, and oh boy, did they have a blast! Mellow is really family friendly and gives off great vibes. I often hear people say it’s pricey, but I think it’s a sweet deal for the quality you get. Plus, the drinks are fantastic! If you’re looking for fun, food, and a bit of funky flair, this Mellow is the place to be. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

First time at the mushroom, and was not disappointed. We had a large party on short notice. They were able to fit us in and provided exceptional service. We had the house special (no mushrooms) classic crust. Delicious! I would absolutely recommend it if you in the area.

With a party of 8 I was able to speak to our waitress about AGS and what I could and could not eat. I was beyond pleased and felt very comfortable after the conversation. My pizza was brought by a seperate individual who stated “vegan and alpha gal friendly” and was probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had since my diagnosis. The tables, floors, menus, and restrooms were incredibly clean. I was blown away by my experience here and will make it a point to eat here every time I visit the area. Thanks to the MM staff…it means more than you could know.

I absolutely love this mellow mushroom I think it’s so much better than the Lynchburg Virginia location . I got to go here with my son today and I have been several times in the past 6 months . The pizza is great ! They can be slightly pricey but I do think it’s better pizza than most pizza and I love the chicken wings , I love most of their offerings . Sometimes I have a hard time choosing what I want

Mellow Mushroom in Roanoke was such a great stop! The staff was incredibly kind, especially to our kids they made us feel really welcome from the moment we walked in. We tried the new loaded queso dip and wow… it was amazing. Definitely a must-try if you’re a fan of queso! We also ordered a pepperoni pizza and a cheese pizza. The kids devoured the cheese pizza, and the pepperoni was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The whole atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and the service made it even better. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in town.

Friendly staff from the time I walked in to be seated all through finishing my meal. The buffalo wings were awesome, as well as the pepperoni pizza; taste and presentation matched. Great food. Great vibe. I love mellow mushroom anyway, but this location did not disappoint. In my opinion, none of the franchises, wherever I am, disappoint—so far. Always a ‘hit’ in choosing as a pizza/wing option.

Just love a Mellow! Again constant food quality and taste! Fell in love with the steak and cheese hoagie again, so so good! They have a lunch special with half a hoagie..on point. Great service, food, and the vibe with the orange counters.
