Tony and Ana opened the first Ford’s Fish Shack on September 27, 2010 in Ashburn, VA. The idea was to create a comfortable and friendly fish shack like the many that are scattered along the New England Coast. Our vision was a neighborhood restaurant with an outstanding seafood selection served by a friendly staff. We knew we had to serve the freshest fish, lobstah, and Ipswich clams. And that’s when the journey began for us, and the 24 employees who had the courage to join us. Fast forward to today with a location in South Riding, events by Ford’s Wicked Catering and our newest location in Lansdowne, we still have the same goal. We promise to always use sustainable practices to bring you the freshest seafood.

Absolutely loved everything about my visit! The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I ordered the fish and chips but substituted the fries for the basil mashed potatoes, and it was perfect. My meal came out quickly, piping hot, and full of flavor. The pumpkin cheesecake was **AMAZING** a must-try!
Nelson was an excellent server, and Donn is an outstanding manager. The whole atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely family-like. Highly recommend!

Ford’s Fish Shack is a popular seafood spot in Ashburn, and reservations are definitely recommended. They couldn’t find our reservation at first, but still worked with us and got us a table, which I appreciated. Service was friendly throughout. The food was okay for me, though seafood lovers will probably enjoy it more. Many people come here for oysters and fish specials, especially on weekends. Just make sure your reservation is confirmed and give yourself some buffer time if it’s busy.

A bit crowded on a Saturday night, but online they had all reservation times available. First time dining here. We got a friendly greeting when we arrived and we were seated promptly. Our server had a lot of energy and let us know what the specials were. We ordered the appetizer special which was lobster queso and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! They really need to add this to their regular menu!!!! We also had the seafood basket with scallops and shrimp and that was pretty good. They didn’t have ranch dressing for the fries; they had tarragon buttermilk dressing instead. Honestly, that was better than ranch! The cole slaw needed seasoning, but wasn’t bad once you add a little salt and pepper. Also ordered the lobster Cobb salad. It was good but a little on the pricey side. I didn’t feel like the champagne vinaigrette was the right dressing for that salad. It didn’t ruin the salad or anything, it just felt like a mismatch for me. A creamy dressing like blue cheese or the tarragon buttermilk felt more appropriate. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee which was quite good. The server checked on us pretty regularly which we appreciated. Very enjoyable experience overall and I would come back again!

Very disappointed with my Lobster Cobb salad (which was a to go order). The only request I had made was No bacon. As you can see from the photo they also forgot a lot of lettuce and the tomatoes. The second picture is what the salad usually looks like, what I got was not what I expected.

Ford’s Fish Shack in Ashburn is such a great spot for seafood lovers! I stopped in with friends for lunch and we sat at the bar where the bartender took excellent care of us. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, and the flavors coming out of the kitchen were spot-on. We started with oysters, mussels, and some fresh broccolini – everything was served beautifully, and the mussels especially stood out with their rich, flavorful sauce that paired perfectly with the bread. For the mains, we couldn’t resist the crab legs and a Chesapeake-style lobster roll. The crab legs were simply amazing – tender, perfectly seasoned, and made even better with warm butter. Service was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The cozy, upbeat vibe and delicious food made for a memorable meal, and I’d happily come back again soon for another seafood feast!

I came here just for a casual late birthday dinner and it was great! The food was delicious and served was wonderful and very polite and attentive.
I highly recommend trying their soft shell crabs and crab cakes. They were phenomenal. I highly recommend coming and I would definitely revisit this restaurant.

The food was alright, not bad, but it didn’t really stand out either. Portions were fair and the menu offered a reasonable amount of variety. That said, the flavours felt pretty standard and could benefit from a bit more seasoning or originality.
