“SATISFYING”
As I begin typing this, I’m currently sitting in Golden Corral restaurant in Decatur, Alabama. I decided to stop here on the way back to Huntsville.
I have long been a fan of the Golden Corral franchise. And, for years, I regularly frequented the Golden Corral restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama, before they shuttered it permanently after COVID-19. However, I never made an online review of it.
Now, this visit will be my fourth visit to Golden Corral, in Decatur, Alabama.
As with my previous visits to this particular franchise location, I was pleased with the food that I selected here on this visit.
The hot dishes were indeed hot, and the cold dishes were cold.
I’ve always been particularly fond of their fried chicken—especially the drumsticks—as well as their sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows, which I enjoyed today.
Other favorites of mine have often been their talapia and their turnip greens, which I also selected on this visit.
On this day, I also really enjoyed the cantaloupe, which was chilled, sweet, and delicious. The decaffeinated coffee that I requested after my meal was fresh-brewed and hot. Also, the wait staff were friendly and helpful.
However, I do have one notable negative about my visit this time. After I entered the restaurant, there was a group of about six adults milling around—who were apparently all together—assembling their group together. Then, I politely allowed them to go ahead of me to pay for their meal. Afterward, when I approached the cashier, I was told that the price of my meal had gone up several dollars because lunch hour had ended.
● I pointed out to the cashier that the current time on my smart watch was only 4:02 pm.,
● and that I was already in line before 4:00 pm.
● (Furthermore, there was no one behind me in line!)
● I was informed by the cashier that the computer automatically makes the change, …
Anyway, … otherwise, I was pleased with my meal and visit.
So, compliments to the team at the Golden Corral restaurant, in Decatur, Alabama, for an enjoyable dining experience.

Our waitress was nice and her manger the way she spoke to her was uncall for and no employee should be ever treat like that in front of customers if I was the employee I would walk out and never come back. The lady that was serving the steak threw on husband plate the steak and very rude and when I ask my steak I ask for medwell and she gave it to me raw you need to change the cook and the ladys that works at the dessert area should not be working there if they don’t know at least two languages to respond to the customers they shouldn’t be working there I ask her that she was out of the fudge and chocolate ice cream and she kept on shaking her saying no and not even saying a word and I ask her again and still no answer and I ask her again and she “no we don’t have ” and I told her Spanish “no what by saying no and shaking your head people won’t understand you ,so next time speak up or get someone who does understand”. So I told my waitress and she was like yeah they don’t understand too much English and I told then they shouldn’t be working here really. And the 3 Latin ladys where looking at me and talking about me and I told my husband let’s because I know myself and I really don’t want any problem. And the waitress so nice I don’t remember her name she is an African American lady tall and I felt so bad for because of the way the manager was talking to her and her whole demeanor change and I told her don’t let bother Jesus loves you and he watching everything of how people treat each other.

This place is an absolute disgrace!!!! Running out of food not having staff that can understand you when asking for help!! They make their own ranch and what a joke that is it taste nothing like ranch!!! We paid $17.49 a person and I only had 3 chicken legs and that was waiting 40 minutes just for that!!! My first and only time here will never come back ‼️‼️‼️

This is our third time visiting this particular Golden Corral location,(all the way from Huntsville), and each time has been satisfying! The restaurant,restrooms and tables are clean, the staff is friendly and the food is always fresh! The roast beef and banana pudding are my favorites! The icee machine is another plus! The only thing that’s lacking is the dessert station. Sometimes the cakes are a little dry and the cookies are rock hard. Otherwise, this is definitely an affordable and tasty place to indulge in!

Rate them fair. At early Sunday lunch, some of the food items clearly from day before and looked old. At least I got in before 11 AM and got the lower price. Breakfast items were poor and I didn’t even bother. Deserts were fresh and looked appealing.

Great place for buffet. The food is good overall, nothing amazing , but for the price is worth it .
The service is really good , but the building and everything is really old . It looks like it is stuck in time .
