The Butcher’s Son is our take on the Classic American Steakhouse. I’ve always loved the feel and different styles of steakhouses. Old Chicago-based steakhouses have that rustic gangster feel; and while New York City has that as well, it seems a bit nuanced by a Wall Street or Broadway type of influence. Down south you see the Plantation style Chop Houses with New Orleans architecture or the Miami ‘Copacabana’ feel. I love them all and I think they are all part of our American story. We want to be a part of that story.

12/9/25 – My husband had been here once with a friend and loved it. So we decided to come for our anniversary dinner. We made a reservation in advance which I would recommend. Everything was great. The service, food, and atmosphere. We ordered the rockefeller oysters They were the best I’ve ever had. They charred the lemon which made such a difference with the flavors. I gobbled those down in like 2 mins. I also tried the she crab soup. It was good but again the oysters were my favorite. As my entree I got the maple salmon. The Salmon was flavored well and I got another charred lemon, that made the meals flavors enhanced. My husband got a steak dish with the Mac and cheese and an additional side of home fries. He really liked his dish. I thought the Mac and cheese has a little chalky texture to it but it was still good. The home fries had a great crunch on the outside. Everything was so good. We also tried specialty drinks off the seasonal menu. They still had the fall drinks and was told they would switch over to the winter menu soon. Last thing we got was the dessert which was my least favorite. We got the banana pudding. The first bite was great but once I got to the middle and bottom it tasted off. The bananas kind of had a spirit taste to them (if that makes sense) and the wafflers were so dry on the bottom. The bottom of the cup slowed it was made on 12/4. But everything was still amazing. The even wrote happy anniversary on the dessert plate. Highly recommend.

My partner and I came by for dinner and were impressed with the friendliness of our server and the food. Good spot for special occasions. They also seem to have great weekday specials that we’ll definitely come back for.

We ordered the ribeye, crab soup, stuffed mushrooms and seafood Mac and cheese.

I was on a mission today, so I just went in to pick up some of the seasonal sweet potato oatmeal cookies. They were definitely worth the drive. Taste fresh, don’t have that chemical taste that some desserts have when they’re loaded with preservatives. Next time I’m ordering an entrée and staying a bit longer

The Butcher’s son needs to consult with his mom to learn how to cook because the food was AWFUL. To not have filet at a steakhouse is a crime. I got the tenderloin Oscar style and was appalled by the “crabmeat.” It was nothing but watery mush and it smelled off. There was hardly any bearnaise sauce! The roasted potatoes and brocollini had absolutely no flavor. Husband got the ribeye with mac and cheese, velvetta shells and cheese quality. We left 90% of our food on the plate. The steaks were edible so we took them home to season and eat later. Definitely will never return. Service was great though,and the calamari was ok.

The food and atmosphere is excellent. Unfortunately at this time the staff is unorganized and inefficient. Water came roughly 7 minutes after we were seated, and our food (while delicious), unfortunately was a bit of a disaster. My brothers steak was served with my mother’s sides, and she did not receive her plate at all while we attempted to decipher what mishap occurred in the kitchen. The reason why we did not catch it immediately is because my mother ordered asparagus as one of her sides, and we were not informed that they were out and substituted it with green beans instead. We let our server know to cancel my mother’s order as everyone was done with their food, and she let us know that the manager would be at our table. We waited for the manager for 20 minutes until we approached the kitchen for updates. Luckily, the manager was waiting at the kitchen for the steak we already said we did not want. It seems that the manager was not entirely informed of the situation, however she did make it right in the end. She was very understanding and fantastic. Personally, I will be back, however we would like a different server for the foreseeable future.

Went for our Anniversary. The food was delicious. I had the farmhouse stuffed chicken, my husband had a steak. Very large portions, we both had leftovers to take home. Our waitress was wonderful. We never had to wait on drink refills. Over all a great restaurant.

We’ve always enjoyed coming here but tonight was excellent! The drinks were delicious- I had the polar palm drink and it was very balanced between sweet and light. We enjoyed the ribeye and also the lamb. They were both cooked perfectly – tender flavorful and juicy. (I will even rave about the asparagus- who does that?!)
Our server Darby was so personable and did a great job!

First time here. Not my favorite steak house. Nice atmosphere and good service. She crab soup was ok. The steak cooked how I liked but the sides I had really didn’t have good flavor. For the price. I just expected more.

Wonderful server, good drinks.
I had the short ribs. Immediately after I became sick. Violently vomiting.
I called to let them know I became sick after eating. I was told “the ribs are very popular and no one else has complained, feel better”.
This was my birthday dinner.
I have NEVER complained.
I wanted to let them know to ensure no one else would get sick.
I didn’t pay over $220 to enjoy dinner just to become sick as a dog and be blown off like my experience was irrelevant.
I don’t leave bad reviews. But after becoming so sick and being blown off like it didn’t matter I made the decision to let others know.
Very disappointing.
