We visited after a nearby pumpkin patch event and decided to have dinner here. From the moment we entered, we didn’t feel welcomed — it seemed like the staff doubted whether we would even pay for our meal. We tried to overlook that and placed our order anyway.
We ordered paneer naan and a milkshake. The paneer dish was supposed to come with well-cooked basmati rice, but what we received was thick, overcooked rice with cumin seeds — definitely not basmati or may be overcooked basmati rice which had lost its texture and taste. Paneer was good (5/5).
We also weren’t served any water initially. When we asked, the lady mentioned she only had regular tap water, which she served. Since we were dining with our 2-year-old son, who isn’t used to tap water, we politely asked if they had filtered water. She said she could provide cold filtered water, so we requested one glass.
After waiting 5–7 minutes (and note — there were only two tables occupied including ours), we asked again, and the male staff member said they didn’t have any filtered water at all. A few minutes later, the lady came out with filtered water in a colored glass, but when she went back, the man seemed to instruct her not to serve it.
What made it worse was noticing that another couple (who happened to be white) was comfortably drinking filtered water at their table. That felt discriminatory and left us quite uncomfortable.
Despite all this, we quietly finished our meal, left an 18% tip, and said thank you before leaving. We had hoped for a welcoming and fair dining experience — unfortunately, this visit didn’t feel that way
This location is conveniently located and has large variety of selection. The ambiance is good and the dude in the front desk is very accommodating.
