This Texan can’t say enough great things about BEAST! We got there late on a Sunday, but we were still able to get the ribs, brisket, and some sides. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sauces were complex and unique. But hands down the best thing on the menu is the chili crisp grilled cabbage! I could eat this for every meal! I tried to pry the secret ingredient out of the chef, but he wouldn’t budge. Alas. Next time we’re in St. Louis, we’ll be back!

Moving reviews from Yelp. Originally published 1/20/18:

In a lot of ways, this place feels like a Sugarfire clone. Is that a bad thing? Maybe, maybe not.

This place offers a slight variation on the STL barbeque dining experience. You walk in and order at what looks like a hostess stand that’s been bedazzled with their specials of the day. You get a number and your beverage cup then try to find a seat. At some point your food shows up but it’s not clear from where as you don’t watch it being assembled. You eat and then leave.

I am not sure what I think of the notion of side dishes all being a-la-carte. I suppose I can see pluses and minuses. A huge plus is that they have a bbq pork taquito that comes with a little cup of cheese sauce. Had it not been for sides priced separately I doubt I would have tried it and it was pretty amazing.

I also had the 1/4 slab of ribs. They were pretty good, nice amount of smokiness, a bit peppery but also a tad dry. It was neat that they came with the rib tips attached as that added to the dish. I rarely use sauce on dry-rubbed ribs but these benefited from the addition of a little of any of their three offerings that were found on the table.

My food also came with a tortilla. That confused me.

I will certainly dine with them again in the future. Next time around I am positive that I’m ordering brisket…and possibly a taquito.

I positively loved hearing the question at the counter: “military or law enforcement?” Thanks for going out of your way to ask and I appreciate the discount!

Delicious – portion sizes are hearty and they have the patience to bbq slow and slow the right way. Tries to pork steak because my son said it was amazing and I would never order a pork steak – but you regret ordering it ! Will come back and try everything else but I had to see what the dig deal was with the pork steak and I was impressed – does not need any sauce although their sauces are also very good

This is competition-level BBQ with a relaxed, downhome vibe and plenty of smiles all around.

It speaks volumes that they can produce craft-quality ribs, brisket, and wings on a large scale while keeping the meat consistently perfect every time.

I judged them on appearance, texture, bite-through, and smoke penetration—and their ribs scored top marks across the board.

I cook using techniques from Tuffy Stone, Malcom Reed, Heath Riles, and Myron Mixon both at home and in competitions, and I’m telling you: this is straight-up Jack Daniel’s Invitational, MIM, or KCBS turn-in box worthy.

Food this good? I’d happily come back every week.

Passing through and exactly what I needed to cure my bbq fix. Very good food. Brisket and turkey were juicy, sprouts and slaw just as good.

I visited my husband’s family recently. We’re from Southern California, where there isn’t any good BBQ. Last week, we stopped by for lunch, and I have to say, this is the best BBQ I’ve ever had! The pork steak was delicious, the brisket was one of the best I’ve tasted, and the mac and cheese was amazing.

Probably the best pork steak I’ve ever had. I don’t see pork steaks as an option at other BBQ PLACES I’ve been to. Large steak for 19.99. Sides are separate so not cheap but tasty. Only suggestion I would make is improve the tables & chairs. Cheap and torn up. If you want to charge premium prices make it an all around premium experience. Easy fix because they’ve got the food down.

Absolutely incredible BBQ spot! Beast Craft BBQ Co. nails it on every level — from flavor to vibe.

We tried the ribs, brisket, wings, and several sides, and everything was top-tier. The brisket was tender and juicy with the perfect bark, and the ribs had that sweet heat glaze that makes you go quiet while eating (you know the kind). The mac & cheese was creamy with a crispy topping, and the Brussels sprouts? Outrageously good.

They’ve got a great selection of sauces on every table and plenty of local craft drinks in the fridge. The space has a casual, industrial vibe with chalkboard art and a butcher shop aesthetic.

Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of seating, and it’s a great place for groups or casual bites.

I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Turkey Melt with Fries and I also ordered the Smoked Turkey Plate with the baked beans and the bacon Mac and cheese. My brother order the brisket with Cole slaw and fries. The Sweet and Spicy Melt was soooooooo delicious and I will be ordering it again. The baked beans has brisket or some shredded meat added and it was good the Mac and cheese was delicious too. I liked the smoked turkey but I did not taste anything smoked about it just taste like deli meat but still good and it comes with tortillas for if you want to use it and put the meat in the tortilla and top it off with BBQ sauce. My brother enjoyed his brisket and fries but he said the slaw was to dry for his liking. I also tried the fries. The fries are yummy. The BBQ sauce are good. They have many to choose from. I ordered my food to go and it was quick to receive the food. I will post pics of some of my food but the pics does not justice because overall, great place, good customer service and I will definitely be back!
