This is the BEST sushi buffet in the area. I was super sad when Asiana closed a few years ago and I’ve been hunting for a replacement. This place is by far the best. I also love that they don’t cover all their sushi in sesame seeds like some other places because I don’t like sesame. Their mussels are fantastic and they even have duck! This place is amazing and we will definitely be back!

The food is unbelievable. They have probably the widest spread of Asian food I have ever seen including sushi, dumplings, rice and noodles, starters, gravies, salads, desserts and more. The vibe was silent and peaceful, the staff is polite and nice. Their pricing again is unbelievably affordable for the quality and spread. Plenty of parking outside as well. Perfect. Loved it.

Some Chinese buffets are better than others. But most are edible. This place has absolutely terrible food all around. The tastiest thing was the rice noodles with soy sauce. Everything is over cooked and under seasoned. I could not finish any of the items on my plate. Even the egg drop soup was tasteless.

The buffet was worth the price. Sometime they have the dinner item name tags for lunch and that can get a little confusing to identify the right dish. The staff is pretty helpful though if any questions are asked

We had an absolutely outstanding experience here for dinner! Service from all staff was friendly and helpful at all times. The size of the buffet was huge with an amazing variety of food. Food was quickly replenished, and the quality was truly outstanding! Pieces were large, hot, juicy, and properly prepared. Our dirty dishes were picked up quickly. It was an outstanding value for the price paid. The whole visit exceeded our already high expectations! We HIGHLY recommend them!

My family looks forward to coming here when we’re passing through Asheville. Unfortunately this will be our last time. We were there on a Friday night around 6pm. The food on the buffet was limited in quantity and it looked old. They eventually brought out hot foods to replenish the buffet. None of the food was good. I had the pad Thai, lo mein, pepper steak, chicken wings, sushi, and wonton soup. There wasn’t a sign indicating what soups were available at the hibachi line. The chef was confused when I asked him what kind of soup was available. He said a noodle soup. I asked if it was pho and he confirmed. I ordered a beef pho. It took him 15-20 minutes to make it. It was not pho. It was terrible.
The clientele eating there was awful. A couple sitting nearby kept yelling at their kid for a multitude of reasons. I know this can’t be help by the restaurant. It just added to our overall poor experience.
The only bright spot was our waiter. He was very friendly and came by multiple times to check on us.

Yao buffet surprised me completely.
The food: plenty of buffet counters six in total. Hot food, cold food, dessert and plenty of options for not only Asian food but some American as well for the picky eaters or those that don’t like Asian food. The hibachi grill let’s you put what you want from a smaller bar but cooked to order. Only complaint here is they put the meat of your choice on not you. But note, listen hard for the number they call sometimes they can be soft or easily missed, we got our plates after they cooled a bit and the food was still delicious. Decently worth it. 5/5
The service: the servers were constantly on the move and when they see an issue they home in like a heat seeking missile. Twice my drink ran dry and the only reason it took a few minutes was they were busy at the other side of the seating area but once they saw it they were real quick to fix it. No real delay once the issue was known. 5/5
The Atmosphere: Quiet and calm. Low music playing and soft lighting easy on the eyes. It’s very nice and relaxing place to eat, nothing to give the hint of rushing.

It was bigger than I expected when we first arrived! The atmosphere is nice and there’s tons of seating areas. The staff were also very friendly and attentive! We enjoyed a lot of the food offered, but I especially recommend ordering a beef pho noodle soup! The broth was delicious! Overall I’d say this buffet was one of the best we’ve been to so far! 🙂

Yao formerly Asiana is the best buffet in Asheville. Food is meticulously kept fresh and warn and the variety has always done well for my family who dont eat Asian dishes. Something for everyone. 4 stars because my favorite Crystal shrimp was cold and hard.
