The vibes are high here. Great location near the beach. Came here for sunset happy hour around 4pm. $2.50 fish tacos are massive. Two tacos made me satisfied. They have different sauce options and an ample amount of seating. After dinner, we enjoyed a sunset walk on the beach. 5 stars for happy hour value, taste, and vibes

3.5 stars for the food, bumping it out for the friendly service and great vibes.

Ordered 3 tacos (battered fish, surf and turf, and taco especial), a breakfast burrito, large salmon salad, and mixed ceviche. All pretty good if nothing to write home about. Wish the tacos tasted more distinct from another, they all had the same toppings and even a little variation would’ve been nice so it didn’t feel like we were eating the same taco three times. The steak in the surf and turf was really tough, the taco especial was by far the best one, and the battered fish taco was fine. Breakfast burrito had good flavor but was very soggy and disintegrated halfway through, we had to eat the rest with a fork. The salad was good! Very reasonable prices overall.

We were so glad to include Oscars in our vacation dining plans. The space is bright and airy with a colorful mural adorning one full wall and bright video boards showing the menu options. There was a line out the door when we arrived but it moved steadily along. The man taking our order was so helpful and patient with our modifications.

It took a while for our food to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The grilled fish taco was loaded with delicately seasoned snapper and lots of avocado. The al pastor taco was flavorful, as was the smoked fish taco. Prices were reasonable too. Definitely recommend Oscars.

Not worth the wait. The food comes out fresh, and it is good, but nothing really special. The battered fish taco was fine, but lacked anything special to it. Really weak flavor profile. The spicy shrimp taco was also fine, but again lacking in anything to make it with a 45 minute wait. Our other tacos, grilled snapper taco and a skirt steak taco, felt ordinary. It is hard to believe that this is one of the best places in San Diego. Again, it was good, but not worth the wait.

Oscar’s was just okay for me. I got the fried fish taco and really wanted to love it after hearing great things, but it fell a bit flat. It was more oily than I would’ve liked and lacked a crema or a stronger flavor profile. It wasn’t bad, just underwhelming but for $3.75 I can’t complain. I’d be open to giving it another try and going with the grilled fish next time.

The service is great. The wait was long so they brought out complimentary hot fish soup that was really good.

The chips and Guac were good, I recommend

The ceviche was ok, could probably skip that. Missing salt, flavor.

And the tacos (smoked fish and battered fish) were not that good. Missing salt/seasoning.

The surf and turf taco was a bit overcooked and chewy, I wouldn’t recommend.

But the seafood in general was really fresh.

Fantastic Mexican food and fantastic Mexican seafood.

Definitely try a ceviche. Also probably the carne asada tacos.

The fish tacos are the bomb and they even have a fish stew that is damn good.

The song was good and slow and shrimp tacos

After so many recs, we tried Oscars. We got the battered fish tacos and they were really good. Very fresh and loaded with toppings. Have a wide variety of sauces you can top your tacos with. Seating is fairly limited but there are a few tables outside or always good for take out.

A must-visit when you travel to San Diego.
They serve great food at reasonable prices.
The only downside is parking, as there are only two or three spots available
