The food was good! The staff was very nice. I will say – for only $5 more, I should have ordered the ribs and brisket. It was a lot more food for only $5 more. I was not a huge fan of the brisket – but that’s just my personal preference. I like thicker slices. This is very thin. The taste was good. Their ribs were great and the BBQ sauce was excellent. We’d skip the hashbrown casserole next time – just a little dry. It was a good experience. We will be back!
The white cheddar Mac and cheese was EXCELLENT! The mashed potatoes were really good. I would have preferred brown gravy, but they didn’t ask what I preferred so I’m assuming they only have white. It was good! Just would have preferred brown.

Staff was attentive and helpful with finding options with allergies. Food was delicious, the chips are firmer and would recommend the fry appetizer instead for children as the chips are harder for them to eat.

Nice hometown feel in atmosphere. I went there with family of my spouse, 95 year old grandma, and myself. It was a good experience and the food was good. The establishment was clean and friendly service. It was during the evening but did not have to wait long for food. We were happy with the service that we received. I hope that you will give them a chance as well. The food is worth the stop. Hawg and Sauce is wonderful gem to the community. We traveled from east Evansville/Newburgh area to specifically go there. While it may not “be that far”, we had special grandma in law cargo. She was all about the trip though and is the one that selected the place. Good memory. She is now gone and passed at 101 years old. I am glad that we got to experience a good place to eat as she loved to try new places. No regrets. I recommend.

Love that it’s meat cooked in a sauce which is not always easy to find. I had shredded chicken platter with fried okra, very crispy and fresh, and the hashbrown casserole, also very good. I would do a double hashbrown side next time. Food portion is equal to price in my opinion. My meal was under $15 and I was full. Went with water. Not paying $3+ for drinks (wasn’t posted on menu, I asked). Felt like I had a lovely meal at a reasonable price. Worth the drive from Evansville. Great service!

We couldn’t be happier with Hawg N Sauce Catering for our daughter’s wedding! The food was absolutely delicious — everyone raved about it all night. Their team went above and beyond, taking care of everything from setup to cleanup, and even packing up the leftovers for us to enjoy later.
It was such a relief to have a catering team that was so professional, organized, and kind. They made the whole process effortless, allowing us to focus on celebrating the day instead of worrying about the details.
If you’re looking for outstanding food and a team that truly takes care of everything, we highly recommend Hawg N Sauce Catering. They helped make our daughter’s wedding day perfect!

I had the brisket plate… my son had a brisket sandwich… both of my sides were even better than the brisket, which was good… they have 3 bbq sauces, which are all ok…
fries were nothing special… sauces could be better, but all are ok… prices a bit high, given the portions…
anyhow, 5 stars for good service, speed, & both kinds of beans…

The fish was not very good the portions were very small, look at the photos you will see. The spicy fish bite had less flavor and spice than the regular filets.
Homemade Chips and barbecue was good a bit small but good.
They were not very busy when I was there which may the service good and the workers help each other that it a really good service.
Had heard how good the food was very disappointed.

Great food, great decor, don’t sit close to the door or you’ll get cold when people come in and out.
Overall, pretty good place to eat.
Clean restroom adequate parking.
Don’t eat the barbecue chicken breast or the chicken breast, it’s very dry.

A great restaurant in Mount Vernon.
We got the corn nuggets, half rack of St. Louis style ribs, and the brisket platter.
The corn nuggets were good! Although I’ve commonly had them with ranch, I was surprised that maple syrup is a choice of dipping sauce.
I loved the ribs. They were lathered with sauce and fall apart tender. Several ribs simply came out clean when I went to grab them.
My partner enjoyed the sliced brisket as well. Thinly sliced to maximize surface area. Meat was very tender and fatty, in a good way!
The service was great, even though it was very busy on a Friday evening.
For this great food, you’ll need to pay for it. It was about $50 for the appetizer and platters.
Be aware the menu pictures listed on the google review page at the time of writing (Jan 2023), are not current. The current menu lacks pork rinds as an appretizer/side, and prices are a bit more.
Several items, such as the ribs, are now listed on the menu as “market value” or something along those lines. Your server can tell you the price though.
We’ll be coming back.
