What a great place to visit. Filled with lots of great history regarding AL Capone. We met the owner Janice and can I just say….she’s an absolute peach. Just the sweetest woman. She loves to tell about the history and she will give you a tour. In the summer you should check out her piano playing skills, you’ll be in for a real treat. drinks and prices were decent. They also have AL Capone memorabilia for sale for great prices. Cash only. But they do have an ATM on site. We will definitely be back. Even the other patrons were extremely nice and friendly. Definitely a hidden gem to.check out

Nice getaway. Very friendly with small town charm. Al Capone would be happy that his old business is still up and running

We are out of town visitors and discovered Edwin’s Roadhouse. We were given a tour of the place and we learned a lot about Al Capone’s history. There was a player piano and we got to see it play! Really enjoyed visiting there.

Hard to describe. Very cool old school place. I stopped in and didn’t realize it’s cash only and the ATM wasn’t working. But everyone was very nice and kind.

Refused to serve me and my friend due to them foreigner with multiple forms of ID. Had zero issues at every bar and store but this one.

Also was closed on a different day when said it was open on website and Google.

Since the owner is immature, I am editing my review to state this is not a fake review and instead of lying and typing in call caps. You should educate or inform your employees that refusing someone of service just they’re not usa perhaps is wrong. It’s your bars, you can make your own choices to deny foreigners but I equally have the right to complain too. It’s really sad that I’ve lived few minutes from here my entire life to just be denied, I never once been refused service in my life and this was purely because they were a foreigner. I don’t know the motivate, maybe xerophobic, maybe a lack of education from the employee or management. None the less, it happen and I hope you change your mind on it or if you do allow foreigners with valid ID you educate your own employees on how to read a ID or passport.
I am disappointed to see how they choose to handle a negitive review by stating its fake instead of offering an apology or solution. This is very clearly not how this shoukd of been handled but it’s your choice as a business as I said.

How can you go wrong hanging out where Al Capone used to hang out? Just the history pf this place alone makes it a must stop. Then the reasonable prices and friendly service will keep you around.

I used to live behind in the little 2 bedroom house for a few years back 1962 to 1965 when Betty and Erv owned this place. Would love to come back and see this place. It was a beautiful place. Miss it. Betty used to make the best burgers in the world.
