We stopped in one day for a late lunch (1:30pm) and had to wait 15 minutes for a table.
After being seated we were quickly met by our server. My wife has a food allergy (dairy) and the server explained that she was new and would check to ensure they could accommodate my wife’s meal request. I asked about the ‘Specials of the day” and the server just read back to me what was written on a blackboard. What I was looking for was an explanation of what was included and the price.
My wife had a burger that she said was very good and I had the fried shrimp basket that was excellent.
Although the server was new, she was very attentive. It’s not fancy inside, but the food is good.

4/26/25 – Service was great! A place I would go to hang at the bar with friends. They have two sections. I got the soup of the day, which was the new England clam chowder. It was decent, seemed a tad bit salty but the crackers helped. Our friend got the shrimp and wasn’t too impressed and said it wasn’t too good. My other friend also got the caeser salad which was good. My husband got the mozzarella sticks but the outside was super hard.

Uncle Ike’s is a real nice American food restaurant. Family friendly and has a sports bar on the other end. The food was great and the portions are huge. The service was excellent. Our server did a great job. The chicken fingers and fries are amazing!

Honestly disappointed by the food here considering the other reviews. The clam chowder soup was mostly broth like others have mentioned in their reviews. It barely had any clams in it and it was $15. Definitely not worth the price. I would not recommend the dish. The fish and chips were average, nothing special. It was a little bit too salty for my taste. Pricey for what it was. My friend ordered mozzarella sticks and I tried one as well, it was also average.

We ate at Uncle Ike’s Sandbar and Grill on 9/12/24. It’s located across from the park on the main road in Corolla, NC, in back of shops and other restaurants. Difficult to find because of signage. The place is bigger than it looks because it extends back and outside.

When we arrived just after 2 PM on a Thursday, no one greeted us at the door. People were inside eating. We eventually sat ourselves and needed to look for a server. When she came over, she said they were temporarily closed from 2 PM to 4 PM (no sign on door). We were about to leave, but she said we could stay and she would tell the kitchen. We later found out they were short staffed because the season had ended.

Our drink and food orders were taken quickly. Drinks took about 5 min. Food took about 15 min. Draft beer selection was very good, about 10 brands including Modelo on tap (my favorite). My drink was eventually empty and I needed to ask for a refill (not a good service feature). However, they were short staffed.

When the food arrived, it was HOT. Two in my party had fish and chips ($20), one had seafood nachos with crab and shrimp ($16). Our fish was VERY GOOD. Fried just right, simple batter. Likely fresh Haddock (Cod family). It was right out of the frier and obviously fresh. Juicy, and broke apart easily. VERY GOOD quality. Fries (not “chips”) were crispy and tasty. The seafood nachos were also VERY GOOD, real crab and shrimp with a cream sauce, and nacho fixings. Both entrees were LARGE portions.

I would rate my overall experience at this restaurant as 4/5. For the Outer Banks, I would rate price point at this restaurant as average to slightly higher with good value for the money. Portions were large and food quality was very good. Service could have been better, but given the situation it was OK. Overall, I was satisfied to very satisfied with our dining experience.

Try the Crabby Wings, you won’t be disappointed, some of the best wings I’ve had, incredibly flavorful and they didn’t skimp on the crabmeat. The crabcake sandwich was also amazing, and I like the skinny fries served with it. All the food was really good, highly recommended. For the ambience and vibe, the food was on the pricier side, but the flavor made up for it.

GO IN! The outside was not exceptionally appealing, but as soon as you get through the door, Ken was extremely welcoming and Sara took the best care of us!

DETAILS – We explained some dietary concerns we had and Ken provided us with about the menu and Sara helped us with a few questions and made sure that our visit was enjoyable.

The food was hot right out of the kitchen, the fish tacos, shrimp, and fries were delicious!

BE AWARE: After reviewing my receipt, I noticed a Total (non-cash) price of $47.06 and a Total (cash) price of $45.25

we went in the winter, so our experience may be different from the summer peak crowd, but service was friendly, food fell short (my husband liked his meal, but none of us liked the nachos— we ended up throwing away more than half of them which we NEVER do, and the shrimp tacos were fine but maybe the least tasty I’ve ever had (edible but basic, it was just shrimp with lettuce, cheese, and salsa) , and the lettuce in the Caesar salad was warm and limp, not cold and crisp, which was a bummer for $8 or whatever it cost for a little salad).

That said— restaurants are extremely limited in the off season so it was busy and they did a good job keeping up with the crowds and the food was edible but disappointing for everyone except my husband. It was $100 for 1 salad, 1 appetizer, 2 meals, and a soda and we’ve had much better food for a lot less— this was the only meal we ate out and we left feeling disappointed.

Great place! Food was hot, fresh, and made to order. Everything I had was made in house, and had great flavor! I had the seafood bisque, it was one of the best I ever had. Also had the fish and chips, and they were great. Family members had the fish tacos, another had the shrimp tacos, both said they were great!
